Limited vegan options

Menu did not list vegan options, we asked & was told there was only 1 vegan option which was the pumpkin, hazelnut orzo. I had that which was very nice & filling.

Pros: Helpful waitress

Cons: Limited vegan options, No vegan puddings , Vegan options not listed on menu

Best meal I've had in Athens

Stumbled across this gem of a restaurant and I can't believe it wasn't on here already.

This is a contemporary Greek restaurant and from the moment you enter the whole feeling is very different to your typical taverna. The setting was stylish, all the tableware and glasswear was a bit more design led than usual.

We came as a family of 5 with 2 of us vegan, the rest meat eating. We explained we were vegan, the staff were knowledgeable and considerate. They pointed out the vegan dishes and also explained how they could adapt a couple of other dishes to make them vegan. As it is we each ordered one of the two main courses clearly marked as vegan.

My son ordered the pizza which had mushrooms and beans in the description, but I think looked more like kale, very fresh tasting. I ordered the dish simply titled 'mushrooms' which came with couscous and salsa. I have taken a picture but I wish I had known what was actually coming out as I would have taken a video.

I was presented with a large plate with a cloche. I thought it was a white cloche, but it was actually glass. When the waiter lifted it the smoke/dry ice spilled out on to the table and all around and the whole table was transfixed. When the smoke cleared and I actually tasted my food I was not disappointed, however the mushrooms had been cooked they had a much more complex flavour than I have experienced previously. I have been to a number of high end restaurants and as top vegan meals go as far as I'm concerned this was up there with the best. And all this for 13 euros!!! If there was any way I could rate this higher I absolutely would for the quality of the food, the theatre of it and the whole ambience.

I should also point out that the meat eaters also had an amazing meal, but mine was the most dramatic and it's not often you get to say that as a vegan. I really encourage you to visit this restaurant as they thoroughly deserve it to be a success.
