I’ve been a loyal customer of Zeit für Brot for many years, simply because the quality consistently delivers. This particular location is not my favorite, as it’s almost always extremely crowded, with very limited seating and queues often stretching outside. That said, this seems to be a general issue across most branches, which is why I often buy their products at Denns BioMarkt instead.
Read moreMy long-time bread favorites are the Kartoffel-Dinkelkruste and the Bauernlaib, and the Baguette is also excellent. However, the absolute standout for me is the Körnerkruste - hands down the best bread I’ve ever had. Packed with seeds both inside and out, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, it’s pure perfection!
I’m also a big fan of their cinnamon rolls, although over the years I’ve noticed that the number of vegan options has unfortunately decreased. They’re also often sold out. My personal favorite is the Apple Almond roll. If I remember correctly, the Walnut Maple roll and the classic cinnamon roll used to be vegan as well, which makes it a bit disappointing that they no longer are. Occasionally, there are special seasonal vegan varieties, like the Winter roll or Blueberry Poppy Seed, which I always enjoy when available.
The focaccia is fantastic, and while I’ve heard good things about their sandwiches, those aren’t really my thing. The coffee is good, and the matcha was genuinely very nice as well.
Overall, I feel like I’ve tried almost the entire range over the years and I’m always happy with the quality. Yes, I do wish there were more vegan sweet options, and yes, it’s undeniably expensive - it always has been, but prices have gone up even more recently. Still, if you’re willing and able to pay for it, you truly get high-quality products and a consistently excellent bakery experience.

Great Americano & Blueberry Poppy Twist - Edit
I had a great Americano and a delicious and fluffy blueberry poppy twist (Blaubeer-Mohn-Schnecke). We sat outside at a main street on a sunny afternoon and enjoyed our talk without feeling disturbed by the traffic. The staff was very friendly. I could spot 4 sweet vegan options in total, a vegan focaccia, and vegan sandwiches.

Leckere Zimtschnecken, mehr nicht - Edit
Super Laden mit sehr freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Mitarbeiterinnen. Sehr leckere und sättigende vegane Zimtschnecken, die Optionen könnten aber noch vielfältiger sein. Das herzhafte Angebot überzeugt in der Breite nicht und ist mir persönlich auch zu teuer.

I had the chocolate banana roll. It was very good and bigger than expected. The price (3,50€) was fair. The employee explained patiently all the other vegan options in detail and they were very friendly - although it was a Sunday evening one hour before closing time! I liked the atmosphere of that place. Would definitely go there again!
