Best spinach triangles ever

I could probably eat the spinach triangles from A1 every day without ever getting bored. The tangy salty spinach makes the dreamy bread taste almost slightly sweet, but in a good way. They're usually really busy here, but have so many people working and such a well organised team that they absolutely smash out the orders so you're never waiting long. The menu is clearly labelled to indicate what is vegan which is super helpful. Everything is great value for money too.

Nice Lebanese bakery with a few vegan options. Had the vegan spinach and cheese triangle. Was really fresh and delicious. They have a few other vegan options too.

Had the falafel fold over, maybe not the best falafel I’ve ever had but very delicious and the staff has always been so lovely. A perfect light lunch.

Old fave

The OG falafel! Spinach triangles are to die for, lemony spinach tucked away in the softest pillow of bread!

Proper Lebanese falafel

Traditional and great falafel, spinach pies are amazing, a bit of a Sydney road institution. Plenty of seating inside. Great food incl vegan falafel rolls and plates, vegan pizzas with vegan cheese, various breads (eg spinach pie)

The Original [?] and Best

Pretty awesome; if it was at least vegetarian, would give A1 Brunswick four (4) stars.

Pros: pretty scrummy, relatively inexpensive, lots of vegan options

Cons: serves meat, bring back wholemeal zaatars & spinach triangles!

triangles for life

Any time I’m away from Melbourne for a while, the thing I most look forward to eating when I get home is a spinach triangle from A1. They’ve been my favourite for over 10 years now. The “spinach” might actually be silverbeet, as the leaves are dark green and silky when they slide out of the soft white pastry, dripping with lemon juice and olive oil. There’s slightly crisp onion and a sprinkle of sumac in there for tartness and tang. Delicious with hummus on the side. The zataar pizza is very tasty too and can be served with fresh or cooked veggies - tomato, onion, capsicum, and black olives. As a previous reviewer noted, you can now add vegan cheese to pizzas and pies. I think it’s Bio Life. It’s nice to have the option but I personally feel like it mutes the flavour of the other ingredients. Recently they’ve added a few extra menu items. I need to try the lentil soup and ful medames. They usually have Bonsoy and don’t charge extra for it, unless that has changed. Last time I ordered coffee, I paid $3.50 for a pretty decent soy flat white - unheard of in Brunswick! Good range of groceries too - I usually pick up a jar or creamy, smoky ajvar spread made from roasted capsicum and eggplant.

Pros: cheap, vegan cheese option, lots of seating

Proper Traditional Lebanese Food

You won’t find any of that gentrified $20 falafel here that you find down the road. This a proper Lebanese joint!
The food is incredibly tasty, the portions huge and it’s very cheap. My favourite is the falafel platter where you are given 4 falafel, pita bread, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and pickles and a huge portion of tahini to eat how you like it. All for $7!
They have vegan cheese available (there’s a sign at the till). You can add it to pizzas and pies.

Pros: Cheap, Traditional, Filling
