They have many vegan options including:
vegan tomato & mushroom focaccia
vegan banana nut muffins
vegan scones
& vegan artisanal breads
All the vegan items are labeled vegan & are affordable. I enjoyed the vegan tomato & mushroom focaccia for $2.25 & will be back to try some of the other offerings.
Pros: a cooperative worker owned bakery

Limited Vegan Options - Edit
There aren’t many vegan options, but those that exist are delicious. The vegan focaccia is yummy. It would be great to see an expanded vegan menu…one can dream.

Vegan bread, muffins, and scones! - Edit
This is a great stop to pickup some vegan, fresh baked breads, muffins, or even a scone. On the breads front, they have plenty to choose from. On the muffin and scone side, there are only a few options but very good! They usually have banana nut and lemon poppy seed (muffins), and a blueberry scone. The nice thing is that they usually have plenty on hand, so you don't have to worry about arriving later in the day and them being sold out.

Pros: vegan muffins, vegan scone
Cons: Could be more vegan pastries

Nice Bakery - Edit
Tried their vegan lemon poppyseed muffins, a very nice treat! With just a few more items their vegan menu wouldn’t feel quite so limited but what they do offer is very nice. I remember trying their dairy scones in past years when I was vegetarian and I thought they were very good.

Delicious baked goods with decent vegan selection - Edit
Visited Arizmendi and got one of every vegan pastry option: mint chocolate cookie, banana nut muffin, lemon poppyseed muffin , blueberry scone and a baguette for good measure. Everything is reasonably priced and really tasty! Will definitely be coming here regularly. What's not to love about a worker co-op with vegan treats?

Yummy Vegan Muffins - Edit
I had read about this place on happycow and have come here twice, on both recent trips to San Francisco Mission District. Was just here in October 2012. Here's my Arizmendi Bakery review.
Read moreIt's primarily a bakery that also makes pizzas, and it's and a great place to get a baked treat and a coffee in the daytime. I thoroughly enjoyed coming here, and if I lived in San Francisco, I would stop in everyday.
The coffee served at all the Arizmendi Bakeries in the Bay Area is Equinox brand and is good.
During both trips when I visited, there were several marked vegan items (1 vegan cookie, 1 vegan scone, 1 vegan muffin, 1 savory foccacia bread); plus you can find vegan-suitable bread.
Each day's pizza variety always contain dairy, so if you wish to have vegan pizza, you must custom order 24 hours+ in advance.
Pros: vegan baked goods, good coffee, nice space
