Thai food with plenty of options

Muchas opciones para escoger y marcadas si son veganas
Los precios son algo caros pero la comida es rica. Probé la sopa y spring rolls y por ahí exploraré para probar otras cosas

Good experience

This restaurant has some vegan options. You can add the tofu protein from the protein list or have it without protein, but if you add vegetables, they charge $4.5 extra, which seems excessive.

- Fried tofu (entrée): I believe it is made with a firm rather than an extra firm tofu. The breaded layer is quite thin, not so crunchy. The sauce is oily sweet with chunks of peanuts
- Bangkok noodles are spicy, oily & peppery. Ingredients include white & green onions, mushrooms. The one thing I am worried about this is that when I tasted the noodles, I felt a hint of caldo Maggi (broth), which contains chicken. I am not certain of this, though. If we go again, I would need to specifically about it. If yes, the dishes with noodles would not be vegan. I would have to ask if the rice is also cooked in that broth.
- Basil rice is a sweet veggie rice. It has green & red peppers & other greens like green beans & long basil (not dried).

Service was good & the place is nice. If you enjoy to be alone or have a quiet meal, it does tend to be empty. There are tables outside as well, although I am not sure if it's pet-friendly.

Pros: Good experience in general, good service, Nice looking place & environment

Cons: Tend to be expensive

An interesting experience

Well the restaurant is somewhat difficult to find; you need to go into the Marriott Hotel, past other businesses and there the restaurant is. Sat outside which was very nice. The servers were somewhat confused and it was more than a language issue but all very friendly. The food took forever to come but it was nice just to sit and chat. The menu was a bit confused and they seemed to have mistaken vegetarian for vegan since they thought that things that contained eggs could be vegan. It really was not a problem since the ingredients were listed with each of the main items. The food was very good although I would go mild with the spice. All in all it was amusing and I would go back again. It was a bit expensive given the cost of meals in other restaurants.

Pros: Good tasting food, Friendly but confused servers, Nice location

Cons: A bit expensive, They have a menu in English but specify

Not authentic

Warning for people who have actually been to Thailand, this is not authentic Thai food. We were excited when we heard the three chefs were from Thailand but as we got our food were more and more disappointed. We got the fresh spring rolls which were the only positive thing about this order. Those had a great flavour and punch to them . We ordered fried spring rolls which tasted frozen, off and old. We had lettuce wraps with vegetable option which was okay .The papaya salad was completely off, there was no heat to it, this also tasted sour, there's no carrots in a papaya salad, the nuts are usually crushed, tomatoes as well are usually crushed however this was a shock for us, there was too much soy taste and missing the tamarind and lime taste. There was a tom kha soup which was lacking of coconut and was even a bit sour,it was missing galangal, no keffir leaves, and oyster mushrooms. The basil chicken was also ordered , Thai spicy , which was not , and the Thai basil was not like the Thai basil you recieve on the streets of Thailand. This did not have Thai basil but rather fried basil and was filled with unnecessary vegetables (bell peppers, onions etc) . The pad thai also ordered Thai spicy and ordered vegan with tofu came with egg. It tasted sour and off and had to be sent back . Drunken noodles were not what they were supposed to be . However, I know this sounds like a ranting review but after having so many positive reviews and Thai food being my favorite and being to Thailand many times this was such a huge disappoint. However the only positive side was dessert , their fried banana tasted good but their mango sticky rice was completely off. And there was a blue rice in our dessert , after all this and a bill over $150 the waitor didnt even ask about our overall experience. If you have been to Thailand and are expecting authentic food this is not it. Maybe they had a bad night but all their dishes were practically off * in exception to the fresh wraps, lettuce wraps, wok vegetables with tofu were good and the fried banana. The food was doable and eatable but as mentioned not to thai standards.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Expensive, not authentic thai, Have to specify vegan , Waiter not attentive

Thank you for visiting our new location in Panama City. We at Avantika strive to give all our guests a very unique and positive dining experience. Part of this experience, is quality checks, done by our professional and courteous staff throughout the guest's visit. We were assured, by your wait staff, that this was done several times, but nothing was conveyed in any manner that you were dissatisfied with our service or quality of meal. There is also always a manager on duty or the owner on site at all times that could of been notified of your dissatisfaction. Unfortunately, we weren't given this chance but learnt this through your adverse and pessimistic remarks that you made it a point to post on multiple mediums over the internet. We would like to take this opportunity to make amends, so please feel free to come back to our establishment and receive and feel the REAL AVANTIKA experience!!!
