Regular - Edit
The overall food is good, excepting bland falafel. However I am not sure whether the vegan options are truly vegan (see coments below).

🌱 ‘Fal-a-fete’ pita (€11,95)
- - -
#Veganuary

Not great - Edit
Wasn’t a fan. The sourdough pita which is meant to be their usp was bland and underdone. The falafel stodgy and tasteless. Vast majority of the filling was shredded cabbage. The potato wedges were hard and the seasoning didn’t have a distinctive taste and lacked salt. Would not return.

Easy - Edit
Not many vegan options (basically just the one) but it’s delicious and filling. Not cheap but not expensive. Nice interior, though the music is maybe a little loud
Read moreEdit: at the bottom of our cauliflower we realised there were bits of bacon in it (not standard, they must have fallen in from another dish). Mentioned it and they apologized, but be vigilant

Pita bread is NOT vegan - Edit
Despite misleading advertising, the pita bread sold at Barouche is NOT vegan. As per their website: "Each day our chefs make our sourdough and even add a little honey."

Pros: Tasty falafel

Good pita, so-and-so falafel - Edit
I was trying to find a good falafel in Ghent and a colleague of mine said that she liked this place, so I tried it out. I can see what they were going for. The way it was served looked as if it was premium. The sauce was actually quite good. Unfortunately, the falafel itself was a bit so-and-so. I'll keep on looking for some really good falafel in Ghent though, so let me know if you know where to find it.

Vegan Falafel - Edit
Tasty vegan falafel in a warm, soft pita bread. I also tried the cauliflower and sweet potatoes that came with the platter and it was good too.
