One of those places that you kind of think only exists in vegan fairytales. Here you will find quite possibly the best doughnuts in Aotearoa. We visited twice on the same day. Once to eat in and share a bacon and cheese croissant and a doughnut with coffee, then a little later after a visit to the New Zealand Parliament buildings close by to pick up a cheese muffin and another doughnut to go. Such a fun loving place, it’s absolutely criminal.

I have been a loyal customer of Belén for the past 7 months or so and only just realised that I hadn't given them a review on Happy Cow! This place is bloody fantastic - the selection is amazing, the food is creative and absolutely delicious and the staff are always so friendly. Such a win for Wellington getting to have this full vegan bakery - especially down the business end of town! I've never been disappointed (only when they sell out haha). The cinnamon scrolls are an absolute must try! So great to see pastries get a vegan twist. Must must go if you are in the capital

Read moreThis bakery sells the best treats ever. This will satisfy your vegan donut cravings, sweet cravings or savoury cravings, they are small but they do it all. I wish I lived or worked in the city because I would go here every single day. Their menu changes fortnightly and there is ALWAYS something new and delicious that the wonderful people there have created. The best item so far hands down has been the Pan Au Chocolat. Everything here is heaven and the food just keeps getting better and better. I always have to stare into the cabinet for ages before I decide what to get because every option is good. Belen is what makes living as a vegan in Wellington worth it.
