Overall disappointing - Edit
We had dinner here but the food was not good. I had the veg “Schnitzel” with fries but boy… the cutlet was dry, overcooked and with no flavor. I had to unfortunately leave half of it in the plate. The fries were weird, some of them undercooked. The girl next to me also had the same dish and left half of her food. We spent 60€ for two. I really appreciate the effort of bringing vegan food to a traditional German restaurant, but it needs to be at least edible. It felt like a tourist trap.

Ok - Edit
It was nice to try something different (I don’t know what salad dressing they used but it was amazing). However, the schnitzel was dry and felt like frozen food chucked in the oven. In terms of drinks, their kolsch of choice is Gaffel (not the best) and they don’t automatically refill your glass, so if you want a traditional brauhaus experience go elsewhere. But alright for food, and it was nice to have the vegan options there.

Cons: Dry food, Gaffel kolsch

Veganes Leberkäse - Edit
Ich hatte ein sehr leckeren veganen Leberkäse mit Bratkartoffeln. Ein typisches kölsches Brauhaus. Das Kölsch ist auch sehr zu empfehlen.

Good food, horrible service - Edit
I had a friend over from Canada who wanted to try classical German food so I looked up a few restaurants and found this place on Happy Cow. We went on an Thursday night, it was pretty busy but still easy to find a table. A young female waitress told me the classic vegan Schnitzel tastes "horrible" and explained to me that I can pick some of the sauces and they would still be vegan so I went for the Jägerschnitzel. It tasted very good and the portion was super filling. A big amount of crispy fries and a salad comes on the side.
Read moreThe service was fast but so unfriendly that it started to get embarrassing for me when showing a foreign friend a classic German restaurant.
While paying she made a mistake so we paid 20 Euro too much. After I firgured I had to have a 5 minute talk to her and tried to explain what she did wrong but she couldn't understand. Luckily her boss came and she figured out in 5 seconds what the problem was and gave me the 20 Euros back. The food was worth it but because of the service I really don't want to go again.
Also the prices are more on the expensive side.

Traditional German Food (but...) - Edit
But... Against all odds a decent vegan section including schnitzels and currywurst. Of course it is a little touristy on the old town square, but it's decent.

6 Vegan Options - Edit
I had the vegan schnitzel, which appeared to be two quorn breaded fillets,(not sure though).

Pros: The number of options in an unexpected place
Cons: Felt like frozen food chucked in the oven

Herausragend! - Edit

Amazing! - Edit
I think it's great that breweries are also adapting to vegan/vegetarian guests. It makes it easier for me to go out to eat with the family, for example. I had the vegan bevarian (no-meat) loaf and it was really delicious - the fried potatoes were perfect. Really recommend it! Service was perfect, super friendly!

Traditional atmosphere with a few vegan options - Edit
This location must have been opened while Corona, at least I never saw it before. It's a small pub with traditional "kölsche"/Cologne atmosphere - meaning the interior, food and the service. Alongside some good beers from the tap you get some hearty meals.
Read moreFor vegetarians, every meal is marked with a green color and there are quite some options.
For vegans, there is additionally a specific and clearly labeled section on the menu. You can choose between vegan cutlet or nuggets alongside with fries and a small salad, a big salad with vegan fillet strips or a tomato soup.
I chose the cutlet and was satisfied. I received two medium-sized fried cutlets, fries and a small salad. Cutlets and fries were well done and I really liked the dressing of the salad. Alongside the fries I received ketchup and clearly labeled vegan mayonnaise from "Hellmann's". #Veganuary
