pillowy bread, tasty fillings - Edit
I’ve lived near A1 for most of my life in Melbourne so I think I’ll always be loyal to them when it comes to Lebanese baked goods. Now I’ve moved in around the corner from Cedar, I’m still happy to be able get fresh, tasty bread treats nearby.
Read moreFirst thing I tried was a wholemeal mixed veggie parcel. The wholemeal bread is a bit dry, I’d stick to white. The filling in this one was a bit bland for me. Mostly soft, mushy potatoes with some carrots, peas, and a very mild curry flavour. The last spinach triangles I bought had juicy filling but the dough was not fully cooked on the inside, unfortunately, probably due to the extra moisture from the spinach. My favourite items so far have been the zataar with fresh veggies (soft fluffy bread, spread thick with tangy spices and loaded with crisp fresh veggies) and the creamy, garlicy ful medames served with thin, chewy pitta, fresh veggies and olives too.
Coffee is reliable with a variety of plant mylk options and service from the mostly young staff is friendly and efficient.

Veggie parcel. Tasty boreks. - Edit
Vegan bakery items are good. Fresh pizza bases too. I have been coming here for 16 years. Also have vegan turkish delight, baklava, marinated veggies and dips.

Gotta be quick - Edit
Cedar bakery has a range of vegan pastries available, all clearly marked. I couldn't pick a favourite - they were all pretty good!
Read moreThe venue itself is open and spacious with plenty of seating. It has a relaxed and friendly vibe and still retains some of its pre-hipster charm.
They also have a good range of middle eastern grocery items as well as pulses, grains, legumes, nuts etc.
Pros: Clearly marked vegan options, Cute atmosphere
Cons: Vegan options can sell out quickly at times

Nice vegan pastries. That is what I like most about this place. Bready but there are a few choices for vegans. Staff are helpful.

Great place to catch up - Edit
First time eating here and was surprised by the selection of vegan items. All the energy balls are vegan, there are two vegan sweets at the front and a selection of vegan savouries at the back counter. The hazelnut energy ball was filling and delicious at $3.50. I also had a loose leaf almond chai latte and ordered it without honey to make it vegan. The staff were helpful with my enquiries. A great selection of groceries too.

cheap and yum - Edit
I'm not a fan of the new kitchen menu and just go straight to the bakery selection. They have a about 5 or so vegan selections. I always order a zaatar with vegan bio cheese and vegetables! They are huge and delicious and you just have to watch out for olive pips. Delicious and cheap breakfast or lunch. Heaps of space to sit.
Read moreIf you want your coffee extra hot, you just need to tell them.
They also have a nice little shop with take home items.
Pros: cheap, vegan clearly labelled , good coffee
Cons: olive pips sometimes in the vegetable mix, soft drinks are expensive
