Vegetarian-Turkish Fast Food Chain - Edit
I recommend the Falafel Plate! For around 10 Euros you will have enough food for one person with a generous appetite or two people. This place is vegetarian, not completely vegan due to the yogurt drinks they sell . They offer bread and/or lettuce leafs to wrap your falafels in. There is a large outdoor market outside the restaurant that goes on for a couple streets.

Great cheap alternative since everything is expensive in Amsterdam. Attendant gave us some free tastings so we knew how spicy each option was. Definitely coming back!

Cigkoftem is a fastfood chain restaurant that sells raw handmade cigkofte, (a bit similar to steak tartar, based on wheat), falafel and (cigkofte) burgers, all vegan according to the owner. The owner is very friendly and offered me to taste the cigkofte, and explained what it is. Not a place for a romantic dinner, but good for cheap take out (burger 2,50, wrap 3,50). The (spicy) cigkofte is very tasty! Will definitely come back.
