Vegan Substitutes, Good Flavour, Attentive Service

One of the newer vegan eateries in Singapore, focusing on Asian dishes and hotpots. What makes them stand out is that the dishes predominantly feature more modern plant-based meat/seafood/egg substitutes, such as NextMeats, &so, JustEgg, etc. Dishes containing alliums are labelled in the menu (most contain alliums by default but can be removed upon request; hope there can be greater clarity on which dishes can be made allium-free). Quite good flavour! I would recommend the Teapot Mushroom Soup, Sotong Youtiao, Steamed Minced Meat with Salted Fish, Beefless Horfun, and Thai Pad Kra Pao Gai Over Rice. Prices in the regular menu tend to be on the higher side, but they have recently launched a March 2024 Street Special menu at a much more wallet-friendly price of $7.50++! Attentive service by the waiters. Pretty decor too with nice resin art tables and murals. They have 2 floors of indoor seating as well as a rooftop bar. 5 to 10 minutes' walk from Nicoll Highway MRT Exit A via the overhead linkway.

Fabulous fusion food

Cute place, lovely staff, extensive menu. We ordered mala stir-fry which was amazing. So many crunchy veggies and soft tofu in a rich and spicy sauce. The miso katsu ramen was umami, with perfectly chewy noodles and perfectly cooked katsu. Definitely recommend the crab cakes as an appetiser.

Nice setting with many choices

You have two menus to choose from here from both Clover and the other restaurant upstairs. I enjoyed most of the food but found that the miso soup had a little too much seaweed for my taste and the vegetable gyoza was quite bland. I tried lion's mane mushroom for the first time here and wasn't disappointed!

Great restaurant

We had 12 hours to burn in Singapore and decided to come here for our “second dinner”. We weren’t that hungry so ordered a few small items to share. Spring rolls, edemane, miso eggplant, sichuan fried potato, seeweed salad.

Spring rolls had no taste and edemane were under cooked and not salted. Now having said this, the menu looks epic, and if we were hungry I’m sure it would have been epic. Will return again.

Thanks guys! 🙏

Pros: Sichuan potatoes , Variety

Excellent

Recommended this place by someone from HappyCow as well. I ordered what I believe to be the thai pad kra Pao over rice and what I believe to be the stuffed tau pok. I really enjoyed the pad kra and loved the egg that came with it. Tau pok was good too but I don’t recall it being stuffed with anything. They have a pretty expansive menu, with an entire separate Japanese menu as well.

5***** experience

This restaurant is lovely, very cozy, and just the right size—not too small, not too large. The staff were very friendly, and the dishes were all so intriguing that it was hard to choose what to order. The food was delicious, and the tea was also very tasty. There were no downsides to our experience. Everything was tasty, new, and modern.

Good flavor, and “street menu” is good value

Clover is a welcome addition to the neighborhood, offering a diverse selection of plant-based meals in a pleasant atmosphere, with kind service. The main menu is on the moderate-to-pricey side, but the “street menu” provides very good value. The Char Kway Teow is recommendable.

Go and try delicious Asian vegan cuisine

I found the place on happy cow during my short trip to Singapore. I ordered Lotus leaf steamed rice and bok choy stir fry. It was a great combination of flavors. Rice was a lot of umami and stir fry fresh so a mix of those two was perfect. Be aware that rice portion was according to me😄for two! So my leftovers was packed and I enjoyed it at hotel. I must admit I did not experienced that flavors in my homeland so it was new to me! Staff was super friendly and while waiting for my food, the rest of interior on the second floor and terrace was shown to me.

Pros: Great flavors , Friendly staff, Nice interiors

Cheap Ingredients at steep prices

Maybe work on improving food quality instead of upselling customers. This restaurant is a tourist trap and if not for a lack of vegetarian options in the area, I don't see how this place deserves such high ratings.

Great Food

The food itself was fantastic and there was a lot of choice. I had the Mapo Tofu, and the tofu seemed a little slimey, although it didn’t bother me it surprised me a little.

So much choice on the menu, but pricier than similar meals I’ve already had. Portion size was very generous though in fairness, and would still eat here again.

Gem in beach road area

Went to Clover for dinner with my wife and friends and we were delighted with the find. Greeted at the entrance warmly, we were shown to our table. Great ambience both at level 1 and 2. There's even an alfresco area at level 2. They serve hotpots and army stew in full or half pots. Ordered army stew half pot [which kept 4 of us well fed), brinjal (a must try!), yong tau fu(delicious dish!), 2 orders of the signature crab cakes and spam fries. The crab cakes i not the usual konnyaku typw but came in multi layered texture, a must try!
The dishes are vegan and plant-based with option to make it alliums free. They also serve alcohol for that chill and catch up after stuffing yourselves. Definitely will return to try the other dishes!

Bomb Hot Pot

Great late night, hot pot options here (4 soup types!) and good service accompanying it. Don’t go crazy adding a la carte to hot pot or you’ll get a huge bill!

Pros: Got a voucher for a big spend, Gyoza was especially cool

Food to fly for…

Visiting Singapore and stumbled across this new place with welcoming and friendly staff / owners. The food was amazing and came with good sized portions. They also have some decent Vietnamese craft beer. Well worth a visit if in the Haji Lane area.
