Decent place to stock up

They had a nice selection of vegan bars. It's a very small shop though and seems more focused on beauty and household goods than food

vegan pâtés à tartiner

as a german, i do like to eat bread with something savoury on it which is why i was really pleased to find vegan pâtés à tartiner here (in almost every other store they only have peanut butter/nutella/jam or vegan cheese). additionally, i saw a wide range of vegan sweets.

Pros: vegan pâtés à tartiner!!!, some vegan choices , friendly staff

Cons: small, bit expensive

Got vegan marshmallows from here, a couple of options to choose from compared to usually one in other shops.

Great selection but expensive

Down to Earth has a good selection of difficult-to-find products and a unique homeopathic clinic with knowledgeable staff. In particular they have a wide selection of household and beauty products in addition to dried goods such as grains, pulses, etc. The drawback is their high prices - but I do come here despite that because of their selection.

Good range

Not cheap and plenty of homeopathic stuff I'd have no truck with but they do have a good range of vegan stuff, including things you generally don't find in the bigger shops.

Pros: Range

Cons: Expensive

Best healthfood shop in the city centre

Down to Earth is the best healthfood shop for vegan options in the city centre. Tons of vegan meats, cheeses, chocolates, sweets, milks, snacks, groceries and household products. Better than all the chain healthfood stores.

Pros: Tons of vegan options , Great location , Friendly staff

A wee independent heath food shop with a strong emphasis on homeopathy.
You will.moat traditional veg products you need here, a small refrigeratored section, cereal s, raw products and tinned goods.
All personal products such as deodorants, toothpaste and herbal remedies. Nice staff and a well set up shop.

Good selection

This is a nice shop in a really convenient location, especially for us tourists. We bought some food to take with us as we headed out of Dublin, fearing that we'd not be able to find things later. The selection was very good, the ladies there were very nice, but it is very expensive. We did end up finding little veg/health food stores in almost every town we visited, and the prices were lower.

Pros: nice staff, better than average selection

Cons: prices!

Down To Earth, Dublin

This is a health food shop with a great location on Great George's St very close to some of Dublin's veggie eateries (Juice, Cornucopia, Cafe Fresh, Blazing Salads and Govinda's 1). Decent choice of stuff on offer

Pros: Vegan veggie friendly, Very central

good for snacks

I went to this shop many times when I was in Dublin in January 2008. I bought excellent vegan yogurts from their refrigerated case for breakfast and Sheese (the best vegan cheese EVER) and fake deli meats to make sandwiches for day trips. They also have small bags of nuts and dried fruits and single-serve and large soy milks in various flavors. There are plenty of vegan option restaurants but Down to Earth was nice for on-the-go snacks. The cashier, who seemed to be an owner, was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great too. Cournicopia is less than a five minute walk away and Juice is next door.

Pros: convenient, good selection, friendly, helpful staff

Cons: a little expensive, not many "grab and go" items
