Love Gintilla - Edit
We went to Gintilla three times during our stay and every time was amazing! The staff is really nice and most of the service people speak english very well. The food is really delicious, fresh and local. The prices are reasonable.

Nice vegan restaurant - Edit
We were just so relieved to finally find a vegan restaurant after weeks of pizza without cheese, spaghetti pomodoro and insalata mista 😂 The place is quite stylish, very nice to cool down on a hot day, with chill out music (instead of the loud competing pop blasted at you from different sides elsewhere). The food is very good, but you need to be careful what you order as the portions can be small and come with no sides. For example, the tempura dish is literally only the tempura (deep fried veggies), no grains, salad or fresh veggies additionally. It is also quite pricey for the region, kind of like a haute cuisine place. But everything we had was good to very good, so I would definitely recommend going. There is a cheap lunch menu (15€) where you get 2 small dishes (from a choice of 4), water and dessert (no choice). We tried all four and the pasta was good and filling, the salad a little bland, the bulgur was good and the tofu was delicious but only 5 small pieces. We also dined there twice, and had the tempura (see above), the risotto, which was great, raw beetroot ravioli (not actual ravioli as we thought but filled beetroot, delicious), a pizza (very good), the cheese platter (very good), the spring rolls (good to very good) and the soy stakes (also very good). The lava cake was absolutely amazing. All in all, recommended!

It's hust a very quick review: Gintilla publicly declared that they won't follow the anti-pandemic rules against COVID-19 infection put in place by the Italian government. They will allow unvaccinated people inside the restaurant, no matter what.

They have the monopoly in the city so they overprice the food and the quantities served are very small. I don't even think it's worth it, it wasn't so good, and I tried it twice. The pizza was disgusting but the pasta was good. I wouldn't recommend. I would go to other veg-friendly restaurants in the city like coccodi il dolce and old square where you find vegan stuff for cheap prices.

We are sorry you were disappointed by what you call pizza although you define the general taste of what you tried in our restaurant “fine”.
Please let us explain that what you ate was not pizza but PINSA, a very different dish coming from an ancient ROMAN recipe.
Obviously, it’s impossible to compare the two and it’s all subject to personal preferences and expectations.
PINSA has a different friability and a unique blend of flour: wheat ,rice, soy and dried mother yeast that makes it highly digestible with a special fragrance (due to maturation process and mother yeast usage).
That’s why we have chosen to include it in our exclusive menu!
We also appreciate there are other places in town that provide vegan food,
but we are pride to serve not only vegan but also ORGANIC cuisine.
We do our best to contain costs to make the experience in our restaurant as approachable as possible for everyone,
but we have to put quality and eco sustainability before everything else!

Good vegan food, it's my favorite place. Sometimes there are tipically Sardinian dish in vegan version. It is not cheap, it cost is right for the food level.

The Primi courses were best vegan pasta dishes we've ever had. Recommend trying the ragu with tagliatelle. Although it looks like a premium restaurant the prices are better than the equivalent in London and the quality is excellent.

Delicious vegan food in Cagliari - Edit
Gintilli is conveniently located close to the port and central business/tourist area of Cagliari. It’s small, but fits about 8-10 tables worth of 2-4 party groups.
Read moreFor lunch, you can order from the regular menu or a special lunch set, which is a good value. For about 10 euros you get to choose two dishes, and get water and bread. You can also add a dessert for 3 euros more.
The food is Italian/Mediterranean based, and the basil pasta I had was truly excellent. My partner got this as well, and separately we got a tofu dish and zucchini dish. We enjoyed all the food, but pasta was by far the best.
Wine selection here is pretty large and can be a little high (though could be normal for the area.) Beer selection is typical of European restaurants, albeit mostly organic and some gluten free.
HappyCow notes reservations are required but we walked right in and got seated without them. However, note the server was a one person show, so it could be a bit of a wait depending on when you go.

Harmonic place with many appealing choices. Tried the ravioli and the chocolate lava cake. Both delicious and served artistically. Could have been added more flavors/salt to the ravioli.
