Amazing okonomiyaki - Edit
The food was really really tasty. They have even a vegan chilly sauce. The staff is friendly and welcoming. You have to do a large queue but it is worth it.

A must try when in Kyoto - Edit
Seperate vegan menu, gorgeous interior, authentic experience. As all other reviews suggest there can be a wait time. My family and I waited approx. 30 minutes, so glad we did!

Amazing experience! - Edit
We tried both the noodles and the okinomoyaki and loved them! Very well seasoned, yummy sauces, and more than anything, a super fun live dining experience. Very friendly staff as well!

Authentic experience - Edit
Teppanyaki cooking. Multiple vegan options for this “pancake” offering. The mochi and corn version with green chilli was delicious. Great place when eating with non-vegans/vegetarians as something for everyone. Arrived at 5pm and seated immediately. There are only around 15 seats, so recommend arriving on opening.

Arrived shortly after 6pm (Friday night) we were first in the queue outside.

Okonomiyaki at its best - Edit
Their vegan menu while small is an absolute dream, had to wait a small bit to get in but definitely worth it. Great atmosphere, great service and great food. To any worried of cross contamination the surface the food is given on is completely clean and spotless.

Worth queuing for - Edit
The restaurant is small and traditional with lovely views to the river. There is a separate vegan menu that you need to ask for. The food is very tasty and there were lots of options for vegans.

So yummy - Edit
Took us about 20 minutes of lining up, worth it. When we left the line was long so suggest you just get there early! We were there by 6pm. So yummy

Good okonomiyaki! - Edit
Allocated menu item for plain okonomiyaki that is vegan and vegetarian. Topping options are available that are still vegetarian, some vegan (egg, scallions, soba, etc.). Delicious, and nice location! Seating either on the floor or at the bar area, and shoes are taken off before entering.

Worth the wait? - Edit
Had a great mochi corn okinomiyaki here, but wouldn’t queue again. I have seen a long queue (down the bridge) here many nights so I decided to get in line when I spotted a short-ish queue one night. Got unlucky and still waited for an hour as there was also a waiting area inside. The food was great and I had a good time with other people in the queue but wouldn’t go again unless there was no line. If you’ve never had the experience however it might be worth it - though I’d recommend booking a spot at Kamehameha (also in Kyōto) so you don’t have to wait.

Really fun, great staff and tasty food - Edit
Fully vegan menu if requested but some items sold out. Vegan sauces put on the table when we ordered from the vegan menu (which can just be grabbed from the sit down waiting area). Loved the hot plate in front for our okonomiyaki. Great waitstaff as per usual for Japan.
Read moreWe got there around 1800 and had to wait an hour. The wait is long but in my opinion worth it - the restaurant was a lot smaller than I imagined when we got inside. Thinking about the line outside did make me rush a little!
Pros: A vegan menu!, Traditional Japanese seating, Tasty drinks (the yuzu plum wine is great)
Cons: The queue - make sure you get there early

amazing! - Edit
we loved this place. first attempt at eating here the line went down the block and then they put a sign up by 7:30 saying they were full for the night. We went back another night (Sunday) and only had to wait 10 minutes so I guess we got lucky. They have a separate full vegan menu (just ask for it) and the staff is aware of what vegan means. It was such a fun experience, it’s so authentic inside, and the food is incredible. Definitely try to eat here if you can!

So fun - Edit
This was my first time trying okonomiyaki and it was such a fun experience. Seemed like a traditional place (no shoes inside, tatami mats and cushion seating) and the food is cooked in front of you. They have a separate vegan menu which you need to ask for and vegan sauces. My meal was delicious and also HUGE compared to my partner's non-vegan meal. Nice cold beers and wonderful atmosphere. We got lucky and only waited around 15 minutes, Monday evening around 18:30. Huge rush after us with very long waits. English menu and accepts all major credit cards. Very reasonable price. Definitely recommend for authentic Gion experience!

Went the extra mile to accommodate vegans - Edit
Honestly the food was 3 stars but I'm giving a fourth star because I really appreciate the effort this place goes through to accommodate vegans. When I arrived and said I was vegan they gave me an English fully vegan menu. Then when I got my seat after a short wait, they replaced the condiment bottles (mayo and "sweet sauce") with bottles specifically marked for vegans. I tried the soy meat okonomiyaki and thought it was only fine. But if you want to check off okonomiyaki from your list of Japanese foods to try this is a good place to do it as a vegan.

Not worth the wait - Edit
I recently visited this vegan okonomiyaki restaurant, and while the experience was fun, I have to say that I was disappointed with the overall quality of the food. While it's great to see a vegan option for a traditionally meat-heavy dish, the wait for the food was far too long, and the quality of the dishes fell short of my expectations.
Read moreThe experience of cooking the okonomiyaki at the table was enjoyable, but the wait time for the food was far too long, which took away from the overall experience. When the food finally arrived, it was oily and lacked the depth of flavor that I was hoping for. It was okay, but nothing special.
Additionally, I found the food to be too heavy and oily, which was a bit of a turnoff. While I appreciate the effort to create vegan versions of popular dishes, the execution fell short of my expectations.

Expect a long wait - Edit
Really nice and cosy atmosphere inside, and high quality service. I waited approximately two hours in the line though - and once you make it inside, there is a second, seated line inside.

amazing okonomiyaki - Edit
I got the mochi and corn okonomiyaki, it was so good!! huge portion compared to ones i’ve had before, the mochi gave it a stringy cheese like texture. Also they came over with separate labelled vegan sauces for me after I ordered. It’s a popular place so you’ll have to queue probably. They have a separate vegan menu (on their instagram too)

Great Local Okonomiaki - Edit
Tiny place (3 tables plus 7 seats on counter) with nice staff, reservations recommended, has full vegan options (see menu, also vegan mayo etc), tho the vege stuff with cheese was also great :)

Does anyone know if they prepare the vegan/vegetable items on a separate and dedicated grill, so that there is no cross-contamination with meat on the same cooking surface?

Great spot - Edit
I showed up asking for the venue, and was quickly joined by other vegan diners. Great vegan menu. The servers- understandably- don’t speak great English. I mention this only because I failed to notice that I could add awesome extra toppings to my okonomiyaki until it was too late! Never mind, the food was good and booze plentiful.
