Liked it but the choclate coat was too thick for my taste - Edit
Such chocolate-coated marshmallow treats (Schokokuss in German, flødeboller in Danish or ciepłe lody in Polish) is one of my favorite childhood treats for which I haven’t found the perfect vegan replacement yet. Unfortunately also in this case. While the filling was very tasty (we’ve tried the classic, lemon curd, mokka and chai - all great), I was bit disappointed by how thick the chocolate layer was. Maybe it’s the way that it’s done in Denmark. I wouldn’t know since I haven’t try the non-vegan version. For me it would be perfect with a much thinner chocolate coat though.

Unique local treats - Edit
Massive variety of delicious chocolatey, marshmallow filled cakes, similar to teacakes, but even better.
Read moreThere were about 15 different flavours so something for everyone. I had a chai and my partner had caramel but they all had fruitier options.
There is a very small layer of marzipan at the bottom so they wouldn't be an option for those with a nut allergy.

Pumpkin spice ice cream - Edit
Really friendly, and delicious treats. The goods they had are like really tasty Scottish tunnocks teacakes which I haven’t had for a really long time. Instead of a biscuit base it’s a marzipan.

Get the mocha one! - Edit
I love that this place is fully vegan! I was expecting something like UK teacakes but the base is like marzipan rather than biscuit. The mocha one was tasty but not my favourite thing ever.

Vegans need treats too! - Edit
Flodeboller are, more or less, chocolate covered marshmallows. I love a salad as much as the next herbivore, but sometimes you need a chocolate covered marshmallow! Or four….

Kinda addictive :) - Edit
I was skeptical to try this dessert as I really don't like marshmallow or overly sweet creams but after reading all these ravishing reviews I wanted to give it a try.
Read moreOh boy what a wonderful surprise! The chocolate blends so well with the mousse filling and every bite is like a symphony in your mouth. I tried the mocca salty caramel and I loved it, I just wish I had a few more days in CPH to try more flavors. I'm at home now and I'm still dreaming about this dessert... if you don't visit Glean while in CPH you will miss one of the best things the city has to offer foodwise :)
Pros: Amazing flavors, Very unique
Cons: It's addictive 😅

Vegan Version of Danish Dessert Flødeboller - Edit
Woman-owned vegan bakery stall located within Torvehallerne Food Hall near Nørreport Metro station (walking distance from many popular city attractions such as Rosenborg Castle). Known for their vegan version of the Danish dessert Flødeboller - fluffy marshmallow mousse (made using aquafaba chickpea water) coated in chocolate shell. I believe they supply these to some other eateries, including Bistro Verde. They also sell other desserts such as macarons and brownies, ice-cream, and drinks made with plant milk. Lots of gluten-free options! Both cash and card accepted.

Finding these being vegan is almost impossible and I was beyond happy when I found that store. They have different flavors and all of them are delicious. The Flødeboller lasts up to five days even without being in the fridge.

Eating Danishly - Edit
Glean offers Flødebollers—a decadent dessert of whipped cream/marshmallow covered in chocolate—in the trendy Torvehallerne market. The market is centrally located and has plenty of outdoor seating—a wonderful experience for tourists and locals.
Read moreWe ordered 4 flavors—coconut, passion fruit, salted caramel, and Danish cookie. The first 3 had a marzipan base at the bottom. The Danish cookie had a crunchy cookie base. The interior tastes like marshmallows, but the texture is lighter and moister like a marshmallow and whipped cream mixture. A light chocolate shell holds everything in place. All of them were decadent. By the time we finished the fourth, we were more than satisfied.
It’s a great experience for any tourist, and I’m sure it’s a real treat for the locals.
Pros: Location, Quality
