Vegan-Friendly Sweet & Savoury Porridge - Edit
Popular chain with vegetarian and vegan options. I visited the one located at Torvehallerne Food Hall (Nørreport station). Both cash and card accepted. They are known for their sweet oatmeal porridge, but I loved the savoury porridges I tried (veganised versions of Mushroom Barley Risotto and Red Daal, without cheese and yoghurt etc), available for lunch from 11am onwards. Do note that their popular sweet oatmeal porridge comes with caramel sauce by default which contains condensed milk! However it’s possible to build your own bowl of sweet oatmeal porridge that is vegan.

If you’re porridge lover, this is the place you should have breakfast in Copenhagen. Been there a couple of years ago and cannot wait to go back! This is the porridge I got with strawberries, almond butter, coconut flakes and vegan cappuccino.

Few places around in Denmark make just good basic food, where you know you get get something vegan. This chain is one of them. Theme is variations around oatmeal - simple and focused, and it works.

The porridge at Grød never disappoints, it is seriously delicious. However the service disappoints over and over again. The girls behind the counter are disinterested in the customers and don’t pay attentions to food pickups.
Read moreWhen in a rush, I can also suggest getting the Grød instant oats that can be bought at places like 7-11 and Bilka. They are not as delicious as the the porridge you order, but a nice alternative.

Grød had oatmeal with customized toppings so it was easy to get just what you wanted. They have “for here” bowls, which was nice. I got a small (plenty big!) of the vegan oatmeal with rhubarb compote, strawberries and almonds and it was delicious! My husband got the one with caramel (don’t think it’s vegan), apples and granola and he really enjoyed it as well!

We both had the vegan, gf 3-grain porridge with our own 3 toppings and loved it. Husband also loved the latte with oat milk. We came for the lunch rush which was busy but also showed how popular this place is. Even though there is limited seating, they have to-stay/real dishes to eat at the counter or the few tables.

Went here with a friend and was completely blown away. The portions didn’t look huge, but we both left stuffed non the less. It was semi-expensive but not as expensive as most other brunches in town. Would totally recommend!
