Great vegan breakfast options - Edit
Situated in an ally with a lot of lovely shops, Grød in Jægersborggade is a great place for a breakfast. They offer porridges and yoghurts with different toppings to choose from. The vegan options were clearly labelled. Me and my family enjoyed the breakfast here!

Very oily - Edit
Cute and cozy with friendly staff. The food, veggie frikadeller with cabbage, was so oily I could not eat it, to bad. I've had the porridge before and that was alright.

A must! best porridge ever! - Edit
Definitely the best porridge I have ever tried!
Read moreThere are several vegan toppings to choose: different types of nuts, peanut butter, berry compotes, chocolate, coconut flakes, dried berries, fresh fruit, etc.
They have a gluten-free oat-porridge made with almond milk, and you just have to ask the staff to make you a veganised chia pudding, I bet they will be willing to replace some of the non-vegan toppings for others.
The only vegan savoury dish is the daal, there is skyr on top, but you can replace it for vegan soy-yoghurt😊
I believe there are 6 locations in Copenhagen. I visited one of them and they had an açai bowl too!
As for drinks, everything can be made vegan.
I love this place, and I haven’t gotten tired of their porridge yet😝

5 Stars - Edit
Don't listen to the 4 star, this is a 5 star. The porridge was THE best I've ever had. 90% of things on the menu can be made vegan. They even offer gluten free options. The service was superb and the atmosphere was traditionally "hygge". The perfect place for a vegetarian/vegan breakfast.
Read morePros: High Quality , Reasonably Priced, Hygge (Cozy) Atmosphere
Cons: The skyr isn't vegan, no replacements either.

Very small, but cute - Edit
I've been wanting to go to Grød for ages, because I've heard very good things about it, and the interior on this particular location on Jægersborggade is super cute.
Read moreWhen I finally went to visit for a late lunch, I wasn't craving breakfast, but wanted something lunch-y. I asked which things they could veganize and they told me only the dhal, which is what I went for. When it was served, there was a big blob of yoghurt on top of my meal, which I'm glad I asked about. Had I been traveling, I would've assumed that they understood the concept, but living in Denmark, and having been given the wrong order on several occasions, I always know to double-check, and sure enough, it was regular yoghurt.
They re-did my bowl, and while it was a very nice touch with fresh cilantro and chopped almonds, the dhal itself was bland. Would've also been nice if the vegan option wasn't actually omitting the yoghurt, but given a vegan option, as it is easy to find in Copenhagen these days.
May be back for breakfast on later occasion.
Be aware that space is very limited, and you might have to be lucky to get a seat. If you're just in the mood for sit down for coffee and a vegan cake, I'd suggest going to Nørrested, around the corner instead.

Delicious breakfast! - Edit
I don't know about you, but when I'm traveling I sometimes struggle finding a decent place for breakfast. It's my favorite meal of the day and so I always look forward to something special.. but good vegan restaurants don't always open early, and if they do the breakfast is not always interesting.
Read moreEnter Grød, a porridge restaurant in Copenhagen. Okay, okay, it's not vegan, I even saw a savory lunch porridge that had chicken in it, but if you can look beyond that, this restaurant is an amazing find. Not only do they serve delicious porridge (with organic and mostly seasonal ingredients), the coffee (I love my soy cappuccinos) I had there was simply divine (and served in size "soup bowl")! The menu changes often, but when I was there I had three grain porridge cooked on half water, half carrot juice, topped with apple, raisins, flaxseed and ginger syrup. Wow, this was amazing! I went back the next day and they made me a porridge cooked on half water, half ricemilk, topped with berries, nuts and licorice sugar. This item originally had skyr (Icelandic yoghurt) on it, which can easily be omitted. Checking the menu, I also saw they had vegan dahl on the savory menu, and I bet that if you ask, even more options can be veganized. I look forward to visiting Copenhagen again!
(btw, they also have a location at Torvehallerne..)
Pros: healthy, original breakfast , the best soy cappuccino in the city, great hours; open early
Cons: a bit small, but cosy
