Very tasty pho. - Edit
Delicious vegan pho. We ordered Level 2 spicy and Level 5 spicy. I will next time try Level 3 and my husband says he needs an 8 as he did not need to call an ambulance. We also ordered the soy and daikon cakes and these were incredible. All the food had good flavor. We will certainly visit again.

Good value - Edit
Went for an anniversary dinner with 3 non-vegans. We opted for 4 banquets at £30 per head. There was a lot to eat, about 40% of the plates brought were vegan. Very good homemade tofu- the peanut& coconut in particular was great. Soybean & daikon cakes also worth a mention. Staff friendly and efficient, seemed aware of vegan requirements (but no substitute for prawn crackers, for which i was given a separate bowl of satay dip but nothing to eat it with). I haven’t eaten Vietnamese before so lack comparison.

Pricey but good tofu - Edit
I like the tofu here, and I really enjoyed my pho. The plantain chips were excellent and wonderfully spicy. However, it is quite expensive, as some of the dishes are quite small, smaller than we expected for the price at least. However the food was pretty tasty.

Vegan-friendly pho with great broth - Edit
I built my own pho with no chilli. The broth is easily comparable to homemade broth, herby and comforting. Easily the best pho I had in Scotland. Purple cabbage was an amazing addition, no regrets.

Not a huge menu overall, but plenty of choice for vegans. I had tofu, rice and a side of green beans and water chestnuts. Everything was well-flavoured and well cooked.

Yum! - Edit
Like others have said, the smell when entering can be a bit off putting, however it's definitely worth it. The tofu was delicious! We shared a few dishes and that worked really well. We had the vermicelli noodles, one of the tofu dishes (something with a soy glaze) and the Red Dragon, a relatively spicey tofu dish with sticky rice and some veggies on top. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse too. We definitely enjoyed our meal! Staff were friendly but maybe a bit overwhelmed. We came early on a Tuesday evening and it was packed by the time we left.

Horrible smell, but AMAZING vegan food - Edit
If you can manage to get through the smell, you’re in for a treat! We went during lunch time on Sunday. Luckily, it wasn’t as crowded as Saturday evening, so we manage to get a table. I do recommend booking in advance, because it’s a very popular spot.
Read moreThe waitress was very polite. She explained the menu, told us some dishes were out at the moment and said the dishes may come out separately so we should just start eating when one dish comes out. I think this really works if you’re into shared dinning, otherwise this place might not be for you.
We order the Red Dragon with the homemade tofu and the Pho with homemade tofu and extra cabbage. Now, I’ve not had Vietnamese food before, but I’ll bet Hanoi Bike Shop is on the top of its quality. The food was absolutely delicious. The Red Dragon was spicy and the sticky rice incredibly good. And definitely the best tofu I have ever head in a restaurant. It was super crispy.
The broth from the Pho was really good. Not too oily and not too salty. Just perfect. The tofu was again one of the best elements in the Pho, together with the red cabbage.
Overall our experience was amazing. Yes, it smells really bad and I can’t figure out what the smell is or where it comes from, but the food makes up for it. The price was just right and the service was good. I would definitely come back to Hanoi Bike Club if I come back to Glasgow.

Brilliant range of vegan options. The pho was tasty, and i loved the soy cakes. The homade tofu was the best I've ever had! My boyfriend eats meat and loved his chicken. Service was great and overall a brilliant place for vegans and non vegans alike.

Ok food, horrible smell - Edit
Walked into the restaurant and wasn’t sure if I would be able to tolerate the smell (extremely fishy, unlike anything I’ve experienced before), but I pushed through so my husband could try the bahn mi. They boast about their tofu being homemade, but unfortunately it has a dry, gritty texture due to how they fry it and it was unappetizing. The bread of the bahn mi also wasn’t great, apparently it used to be a bagel and they switched to a basic sandwich roll that could definitely be improved upon. The soup flavor was delightful, but between the smell of the restaurant and the tofu I would not come back.
Read moreNote that the soup and sandwich combo comes with a whole sandwich and it’s a LOT of food. Also, a level 3 spice is very hot.

Lovely people, but overrated - Edit
So disappointed that there wasn’t any tofu when we went as that’s why we booked. The food was tasty but definitely overpriced for the experience you get. The staff are lovely but the menu was disjointed and it was hard to order items that felt like they went together. Daiquiris we’re just juice, (not frozen) and some noodles were still hard and crunchy/uncooked in the pho. Lots of chilli on everything-nice if you like that but for me it just made everything taste very similar. My side of green beans and water chestnuts arrived as just green beans and although they were nice, they did seem a bit oily.

Excellent - Edit
Went with friends and out fussy teenage daughter. Food was amazing. Our family of 3 are vegetarians,l and were super happy with the amount of choices, and top notch quality of the food. The peanut and coconut tofu was spot on, and the special for the night: tofu with black pepper and sesame glaze, and pickled mushroom was the winner of the night for everyone at the table. Sweet corn fritters, Soya bean cakes, wok fried greens, rice paper rolls, peanut & chilli dip were all well liked too, and our friends, who had tried some of the seafood options too, declared the vegetarian options were the best dishes of the night. Best of all the fussy teenager loved most of what was on the table. I would return to Glasgow just to eat here again. Top marks.

Stopped in for a snack and had the Daikon and Soy Bean Cakes as well as the Curried Banana. Pleasantly surprised that the atmosphere of the place was so different than so many other places in Glasgow. Really liked it and suspect its a hipster hangout (not always a bad thing). Food was good but service was a bit slow.
