Great and varied food

Very enjoyable food (all shown in the photos attached) at fair prices. They serve two vegan south African dishes, a mushroom burger and a few plant-based pizzas. I can't speak for the burger/pizza but the Bunny Chow and Miele Pap were great, and the onion rings were excellent.

The staff are nice and knowledgeable of allergens (separate fryers for gluten free etc.), and allergens are also clearly marked on the menu - there's a plant based section which makes it even easier.

Pros: Varied options, Onion rings, Allergens listed clearly on the menu

Nice place

The aptly named Hideaway is a couple of streets back from the North Bay sea front - away from the hustle and bustle - but still only a few minutes walk.

Inside is clean and airy with a small bar and open kitchen.

The food is South African themed. There’s a dedicated vegan section on the menu. (One of the dishes can optionally be made with honey - which some vegans aren’t comfortable with)
I opted for the banai - which I was told is based on an original vegan dish and some cauliflower bites. Two others in our group went for the mushroom burger.

The owner told me he’s adapted the vegan menu a few times in response to feedback that people wanted something a bit different and he’s certainly achieved that.

Service was a little slow but didn’t bother us as we were enjoying ourselves and not in a rush. In his defence the owner had hurt his knee so unsure if it’s always like this.

Overall a great experience to compliment some other good vegan options in Brid and worth nipping back a few metres from the seafront.

Pros: Quiet location , Dedicated vegan section on menu, Friendly owner

Cons: Service fairly slow but owner had an injury

Great new discovery on a back street of Bridlington

Unexpectedly good with a decent vegan range and friendly staff. I had the onion and olive pizza which was made to order and nicely thin crust. They offered vegan ice cream but the pizza was enough!

Pros: Lovely space, rustic and friendly, Great range of vegan choices, Decent prices

Cons: None
