lacal foods and drinks, veggie and vegan options - Edit
In the very center of Brussels, local food and beverages, durably processed and at a fair price, what more can you want? Oh, a seat! I can be hard finding a free table, that's generally a good sign.

Good food but a bit confusing for vegans - Edit
If you just eat the mezzes, you're fine, but if you go for a plate it can have yoghurt. The food can be great or just fine depending on what you ask (the aubergine dish is underwhelming, while the mezzes are great). It would help to have dishes clearly marked as vegan.

Better than most (if not all) vegan-only restaurants in Brussels - Edit
Their vegan option presented as a plate of Moroccan/Middle-Eastern mezzes is a long-time favorite of mine here in Brussels (only the bread could be a little more exciting, if I really need to be critical). They might not be fully vegan but the owner was so kind and helpful that she even made me a vegan version of her Moroccan short bread cookies they normally serve with their coffees. They definitely deserve the full 5 stars and I think all reviewers here will agree with me!

Tasty Moroccan food - Edit
I had the lentil tajine with vegetables and liked it very much. This option is available every day, but they also have a changing vegan dish of the day, and some vegan mezze. The mains are served with a small salad and bread.

Excellent vegan variety - Edit
Lovely decor, friendly staff and really great vegan options. We had the 3 sharing starters for €5.95 (went for hummus, tabbouleh and eggplant paste) then the lentil and vegetable tagine and grilled aubergine with spicy rice to share (was on the special board that day) and they both come with a side salad. Plus all dishes come with traditional bread which was rather tasty. Also a great choice of Belgian beer and soft drinks.

Great options! - Edit
We were only looking for a snack, so we got a large mezze hummus which was SO delicious. Plenty of other vegan options though--a vegan dish of the day, and about 80% of the mezze were naturally vegan anyway (tabbouleh, baba ghanoush, etc). Definitely worth checking out! Well priced, too!

Very good - Edit
The restaurant is in the center of Brussels, it has a small terrace (about 20 people) and has a bit more room inside. The atmosphere is really nice, it's a mix of modern and traditional oriental decoration. We booked on a friday night, only 2 hours before arriving and got a table, but I would suggest booking first.
Read moreThe vegan dishes are very tasty and quite diverse (rice, tabouleh, diffrent types of vegetables, couscous, tajine). No vegan dessert.
The staff is nice too, I recommand.

Vegan uninspired - Edit
We came here to Brussels for sightseeing and lunch. I ordered the vegan plate du jour for around 13€. What was served? A bit eggplant, rice and a simple green salad (only the green leaves with some oil and vinegar)! No onions, no tomatoes, np bell pepper, no green herbs - not even hummous!!! Oriental and no hummous???? But at least we got a lot of whole grain bread... we were starving. My friend had the meat plate, at least it looked more vegan than mine. Haha 4 Stars for the extraordinary friendly staff and the quiet and comfy atmosphere!

Lovely food for a good price - Edit
We came to Horia on a Friday night. We were a bit desperate as our original destination was full, as we did not manage to make a reservation over the phone. We called Horia to get a table, and they kindly obliged, albeit a table outside. We arrived and were in a bit of a rush as I had to catch a train. The service was a bit slow, but in their defense there were only two members of staff. The menu is easy to navigate and I felt there were an equal amount of options for vegan, vegetarians and meat eaters. The food took some time, and my fresh orange juice never arrived, but it was delicious. The food was clearly fresh and what I also appreciated is that they were flexible when I asked for a change in the dish to make it vegan as opposed to vegetarian. Now, when I say change, I asked for a substitution, which they agreed to. So it was not - as usual - just taking something away without replacing it. I took the oriental plate which was more than plenty of food. I selected the Lentil option and felt it was a very well balanced plate in terms of nutritional value. The hummus and all the salads were lovely, nice spicing.

Nice mezze to share! - Edit
We were attending a concert at Ancienne Belgique and decided to eat here since it's literally just across the street. We were lucky that there was still a table as we did not book beforehand. We simply ordered 5 mixed vegan mezze to share for 2 and were not disappointed. Especially the eggplant and mushrooms were really delicious. We do think 2 mezze per person would be enough, as it's served with bread. Only downside: we were seated right next to the door, which was broken and no longer closed automatically. It was really cold outside, so that was not great. Besides that issue, I would definitely recommend Horia!

blummin delicious! would give 5stars if I could! - Edit
We weren’t sure where to head and decided upon Horia entirely by chance. Menu clearly states vegan (and gluten free) friendly. In my broken French we ordered mixed cold meze and the hot veg meze which was a baked aubergine with rice. The food and service here is delightful. Finished up with fresh mint tea. Absolutely wonderful!!

I was amazed by this place, someone had told me it was a "lebanese snack" ... Well it's definitely not the average lebanese!
