Super Service - Edit
Das Essen war richtig lecker! Und die Servicekraft, die alleine den vollen Laden geschmissen hat, war total lieb und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

A safe choice - Edit
Kini is a tiny little vegan restaurant that I have had the chance to visit twice in the past six months or so. I believe I had a bibimbap the first time, which I enjoyed.. at least enough to return, just a few weeks ago. On that occasion, it was too late for the lunch deal, so I opted for two tapa-style dishes, dubu jorim (spicy braised tofu) and miso aubergine. I wasn't all that hungry, and so these turned out to be exactly what I needed. Also, 16.50 euro made it a rather inexpensive meal. My waitress was friendly and attentive, unfortunately the other waiter was having a smoke right by the entrance.. but at least he wasn't going to make my food.

Very mediocre - Edit
Deep fried cauliflower was soggy, which was very disappointing, tteokbokki were nice but small amount, the veggies were tasty and the kimbap was okay. Will not return.

Uncomfortable - Edit
When we arrived we were first ignored, then seated at a table without asking the guests if it was okay with them.
Read moreWe waited a long time until we could order, but the food was on the table quite quickly.
Well, it wasn't necessarily excellent in terms of taste. (Nuggets with a sauce on top) For this price we expected something else.
Cons: Pricey

Menu not descriptive enough - Edit
We ordered the bibimbap with vegan chicken, kimchi mandu, and dubu jorim. We didn’t know that the mandu and chicken would be fried, and I don‘t really like fried foods. It would have been nice to include that in the menu description. The dubu jorim, the tofu in onions and gochuchang was very good, and it was also the only thing we got that wasn’t fried. If you like fried foods then maybe this place is for you.

Sehr sehr gut - Edit

Korean Heaven - Edit
Vegan Korean food is rarely the main focus and just an afterthought on the menu, but Kini is entirely vegan and offers an amazing range of dishes to choose from. From Bibimbap to deep fried snacks that rival Korean fried chicken, you‘ll find everything you want. The only thing missing is Kimchi Jeon for some reason, but don‘t let that deter you.
Read moreThe cocktails are creative and delicious on paper, but lack in intensity and flavor. They unfortunately taste rather watery, when the concept reads as intense and rich.
I don‘t know if it was a sugar high from the glazes, but I left euphoric and happy! What a great experience.

Good Korean tapas - Edit
We had some fried mushrooms, some gyoza and the v-pop chicken with both sauces. The chicken was not like Korean fried chicken, more like chicken nuggets. But everything tasted great and was very rich in flavour

Actually, Kini deserves five stars, but… - Edit
Great Korean restaurant in the Schanzenviertel!
Read moreConvincing food, the dishes were tasty and fairly big for the price.
Bibimbap offers extra good value.
The ambiance is simple, nothing wrong with that.
I liked the attentive and friendly service!
Clearly directed at Korean folks as well.
The space is limited - Kini can be crowded quite frequently. No reservations accepted though, only walk-in.
Lastly, be careful, the hazelnut ice cream turned out to be walnut ice cream, that was the only bigger disappointment. Also, the toilet could be cleaner. Personally I don’t mind so much, but some folks might.

Best in Hamburg - Edit
Best place I found in Hamburg over 2 visits. Especially the starters, tteokbokki and kimchi dumplings, and the mochi I wish I could eat every day. Awesome drink selection too.
