Vegan cheese factory by Barbara Ferrante est. 2020 as a small home workshop dedicated to producing characteristic Italian dairy products revamped in a plant-based style. Opened an artisanal laboratory in 2024 that produces 18 types of vegan cheeses. In 2025, a store was opened in the center of Bologna at Via Mascarella 104/A, where all the vegan "cheeses" produced by the factory can be found, alongside a wide assortment of high-quality vegan products such as wine, beer, extra virgin olive oil, taralli, various forms of exquisite semolina pasta, gluten-free options, special jams, and Middle Eastern desserts. Also offers vegan piadine made to order. Open Mon-Sat 11:30-19:00. Closed Sun.

I had the pleasure to visit this entirely vegan shop and I was thrilled by my experience. The friendly and welcoming shop owner offered me a free tasting of all the cheeses, one of the meats as well as providing free wine and water as a palette cleanser. All the cheeses were absolutely delicious and extremely memorable. I had the piadina with the Gorgonzola style cheese and prosciutto crudo style deli meat. It was very tasty and I will definitely be returning to this shop! Highly recommend

Really good artisanal cheese. First tried the smoked cheese and Pan8 and had to come here to buy the cheese.

Enorme scelta di gustosissimi formaggi vegani! Barbara è stata gentilissima, ci ha fatto fare vari assaggi per scegliere quali prodotti comprare e ci ha dato in omaggio anche un pacco di bistecchine di soia disidratate. Inoltre vendono anche altri prodotti come conserve e Salvatonno (alternativa decisamente più digeribile del Vuna e che dal sapore più delicato). Un negozio davvero unico nel suo genere e sicuramente da provare!

Read moreI was really disappointed as I went out of my way for this and didn’t get to see/taste/buy anything (they don’t sell on the spot unless preordered).
The guy who answered the door barely let me see one of their cheeses (outside), as I was at least curious about the ingredients.

Small business with a big heart - Edit
This is a small family-run business that makes delicious cheeses! You have to pre-order, which me and my partner didn't know when we passed by, but they invited us inside and let us try samples. Wow, so many different cheeses, and they were all REALLY good!! I liked the smokey mozzarella and the chili one best. The family is really lovely and kind, to say the least. We're so happy we ended up in this little town! Really recommend to anyone in the area to order from them, as a private person or as a business. They can send to other countries during winter, but the heat makes it difficult in summer.
