One High, Many Lows - Edit
Ever the food magpie, this was yet another cafe that I wasn’t planning on frequenting, but I was seduced by the funky artwork and bustling nature of this cafe. My instincts usually steer me right, but not here.
Read moreIt all started well enough, the vegan brownie milkshake was a delight and actually tasted like brownie rather than just chocolate as I feared it may. This, however, if where the positives stopped. It was fairly busy and service had been rather slow, but this would be forgivable if the vegan breakfast I ordered was as good as it read on the menu. Unfortunately, it was not. The bread was flabby, the pea guacamole overly sour, and the sausages and black pudding were dry and lacking flavour. The potatoes were ok, but the beans were average at best and the broccoli didn’t make it to the plate. A clear indication that I did not enjoy this visit was the fact that I didn’t even want to stay and sample any of the vegan cakes and bakes that had been staring me if the face throughout my time their.
Not the finest time I’ve spent dining in Manchester, and I doubt I’ll be repeating it.

Cute little café (just 4 tables inside and a few outside too). I had the vegan breakfast (without the roasted cherry tomatoes). Very tasty and good value for £9

Do not miss the beans! - Edit
I stumbled across this small independent female owned cafe when a nearby place was full for brunch. It’s a gorgeous cosy place with 4 tables inside and more outside. The vibe is relaxed with messages of female empowerment on the walls.
Read moreI had the vegan breakfast which included the most delicious smoky beans, vegan black pudding & really tasty smashed avo. Lots of vegan cakes & brownies too & good coffee, juices & kombucha.

Such a nice place, the inside is very small but cosy and nicely decorated! Great vegan options, especially their cakes. I had the sweet potato hash and the mango/coconut smoothie and it was really tasty. Staff were lovely and welcoming and they also sold cute merchandise! Overall very lovely

Lovely breakfast place - Edit
The vegan breakfast includes vegan sausages and vegan black pudding with guacamole and house made beans which is a really generous offer for £9. I've definitely had better vegan sausages and mushrooms but I loved the guacamole! Watch out, it comes with coriander 😉 They serve vegan milkshakes and smoothies as well.

Lovely little deli - Edit
Small cafe with limited space inside, but more outdoor seating. Lots of vegan options and a good number of gluten-free options. Really careful with cross-contamination despite them having such a small kitchen which is really impressive and thoughtful! Also sells some great feminist gifts and artwork. Friendly staff and tasty food - definitely worth a visit!

Breakfast @ Nibble Cafe - Edit
Nibble is a lovely little cafe, great if you are heading out with your non-vegan friend and are looking for somewhere to keep everyone happy. Serves meat, which kept my boyfriend happy but had surprisingly good vegan options!
Read moreWith vegan meat replacements like Linda McCartney sausages and vegan black pudding on the menu, I was pleasantly surprised. They also had vegan butter.
I ordered the sweet smokey beans and avocado with vegan sausage and black pudding on the side. The homemade beans were gorgeous and really flavourful, I was expecting the avo to come served on the toast but half an avo was just sliced and served on top of the beans, I ended up putting it on the toast myself. When the food was already lukewarm, having to rejig didn't really help.
I did love that they cut the vegan sausages in half when they cook them, because I do this myself at home!
Overall a good choice if you're looking for a quick vegan bite, but definitely some room for improvements.
Pros: Lots of vegan options , Central location, Amazing feminist merch!!
Cons: Serves meat , Food was lukewarm

Tasty and cute - Edit
This place is easy to walk past as it's so small but so worth a visit. The staff are wonderful, the place is so lovely inside and our lunch was very tasty. We had soup of the day (pea and mint) and a toastie and I had a vegan toastie (lots of cheese, carrot, chickpeas, salad etc). Both very fresh and tasty and I would have had cake too if the toastie hadn't filled me up! Maybe next time?

The food is nice - Edit
The food was really yummy, but ordered soup and a sandwich, which took about 30mins to arrive. Customer sat down after we had ordered and they’d finished their meals before ours arrived!! And when it did arrive I had Togo back inside and ask for the drink I’d ordered. But when it did arrive it was really nice.

Vegan Options - Edit
I have walked past Blue Daisy Cafe so many times, but knew they had vegan options, as I contacted them via their Facebook page, so decided to call in for breakfast today.
Read moreThe frontage is only small, but very welcoming, with brightly coloured tables and chairs outside, in the limited pavement space available, though we were not brave enough to sit outside, with it being a cold Friday morning.
I decided on a vegan sausage ciabatta sandwich, with a 'bog standard coffee' as displayed on the chalkboard, with ketchup. I was not disappointed, the ciabatta bread was lovely and soft, plenty of ketchup and with vegan sausages, was a great way to start the day and the coffee was excellent too.
I had a chat with one of the ladies, who ran through their many vegan options, including roasted vegetables, two kinds of houmous, falafels and salads displayed in their food counter, it all looked delicious.
Definitely worth a visit.
Pros: Vegan breakfast, Vegan options
