Vegan Yummmy

I arrived at 11am and the host greated me and asked me where I wanted to site, since I was solo I sat at the bar, with the nicest bartender I spoken to in a while , she was so friendly. I'd say the same for the other staff.
I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict & the Fried Avocado Benedict, both were great and priced well. I've seen the other posts about all the food being fried, not sure of that statement is accurate, but it's poky to have some fried vegan foods, maybe not everyday, but sometimes.

Pros: Taste, Staff

Cons: Parking, It's small so it fills up quickly, They don't take reservation

Polynesian Pleasure

Freshest ingredients, unique flavors, marvelous selection. The Tofu Banh Mi and Cashew Mac and Cheese balls were something else. You know you are finding quality when the tofu can stand alone (without condiments). Warning: you will gain weight eating here, but you never feel queasy. Just sated. So grateful that they opened another location in Seattle.

Has really gone downhill

I love a good vegan tiki bar as much as the next person (asssuming the next person is a vegan like me), but No Bones needs to add more variety to their menu. 90% of what they offer is deep fried and covered in grease. Eggplant Fries - dripping in grease. Cauliflower Wings - really greasy. Crab Cake and Tempeh Sando - greasy. I've stopped going there because after I leave I feel like I need to hose down my arteries, which is a pretty bad thing to say about a vegan place. And then there's the drinks - all way too sweet. Finally, their staff needs to lose some attitude. Some friends said the refused to seat here at a table for six until everyone got there even though the place was empty at the time. Another friend accidentally bumped into a table, and the wait person snapped "You need to watch where you're going". I won't be going back until they mix things up a bit and pick up the laid0back island vibe the they should but don't have.

Pros: All vegan, Don't have to worry about what's on the menu

Cons: Really greasy food, Snooty staff, Too sweet drinks

Creative and Fun Spot

This restaurant has a very cute tiki bar vibe, and creative menu. I ordered the eggplant fries, which were fantastic, very tasty panko breading that got super crispy. The only con was if there were two pieces of eggplant stuck together, they never fried completely through, and weren't as good as the single piece fries. I didn't try the dipping sauces.

I also ordered the Seasame Crunch Salad, which had very crispy cabbage, red peppers, toasted sesames, scallions, cilantro, and curried cashews, it was really good. The dressing was a sesame mustard dressing, I would recommend this salad.

I also got a side of the Coastal Mushroom Chowder, I really didn't care for this, again they went for a literal interpretation of flavors, and I just couldn't, nor could my partner.

For a cocktail I got the Hemingway's Vacation, it was strong and refreshing, hit the spot.

My partner got the Smoked Golden Beet Poke, which was super creative, she loved it, I didn't care for it, as it seems that this place strives to recreate the traditional flavors of poke, it wasn't for me, but my partner ate the entire plate, which was a good sized serving.

She also purchased the Beer Battered Avocado Tacos, which she loved, and said were so filing, especially after the poke, that she thought she was going to explode.

For a cocktail she got the Pina Colada and enjoyed it.

Her friend also got the Beer Battered Avocado Tacos, she also ate it all and said she loved it. I didn't try any, not really my thing.

Her friend also ordered two Guava Paloma and loved them.

Overall, a very cool vibe, creative menu, and strong drinks, would come here again.

Can't wait to go back

I went with some friends and got to try a few dishes. I ordered the avocado tacos which I actually was a little disappointed in - the ingredients were good but the avocado texture was a little off, maybe from being fried? But the cauliflower wings were amazing, and the flautas were SO good - will definitely be ordering those next time I'm there. Also the drinks were great.

Pros: All vegan, Good for Non-Vegans

Vegan bar food

I love bringing my non vegan friends here! The food is on the heavy side, as any good bar food should be, and is very filling. The cauliflower buffalo wings are amaze balls and you wouldn't know there wasn't chicken on the Tempeh sandwich. The North Shore burger is my fave!

great bar, okay food

I ate by myself at the bar at No Bones Beach Club. My coconut mojito was excellent and the tiki atmosphere was super fun. My sushi roll was okay (not the best vegan sushi i've had), but the stand out of the meal was dessert. The fried banana balls with cappuccino ice cream was BOMB. I'd go back for drinks and dessert, but don't expect a gourmet vegan meal like other Seattle restaurants.

Pros: great atmosphere, excellent dessert, excellent drinks

Cons: average savory dishes

They like deep-frying a lot.

A cool place with a really friedly staff. Both of our meals were really fat-heavy (fried pepper and fried avocado tacos) just like the whole menu. The fresh ingredients like the coleslaw were really tasty though.

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: Almost all dishes include deep-frying.

No WFPB options

We were excited to eat here, but disappointed to discover that other than a Caesar salad without dressing, there were no menu items that weren't deep fried, or which didn't contain oil, so it wasn't wfpb conpatible.

The staff was friendly and took time to answer our questions and go over the menu, considering accommodations.

Pros: Nice ambience, Knowledgeable and friendly staff, Outdoor seating

Cons: No wfpb options, Limited parking

Food is to die for

Service could use some work.... Some of the ladies are a bit passive aggressive. Despite this, the food is SO GOOD, I recommend it to anyone and everyone near and far.

Pros: food, atmosphere

Cons: prices, service

Great Food

This is my favorite casual dining spot in Seattle. The food is really, really good. It is inspired by conventional tiki style food, but it's not trying too hard to be it. It really suits my palate. My omni friends like it too. My favorite dishes are: Nachos, Avocado Tacos, and Stuffed Poblanos.

The interior of the restaurant is small and always pretty dark. It's decorated in kitschy Tiki-bar style. They play surf movies on the tv and mostly Hip Hop from the 90's and 2000's. The staff is always friendly and the kitchen is consistent (I've been here a lot).

The downside of No Bones is mostly that it's so popular. It gets crowded and they don't take reservations. You might have to wait for a table, but it's worth it.

great food, fun atmosphere

We've been for brunch, cocktails, and dinner and have tried everything on the menu now. All great, hard to pick a favorite! The jackfruit flautas are incredible, never had jackfruit before. Always start with the cauliflower wings. And when the hula pie comes back, don't miss it! They also donate a portion of their profits to an animal charity.

Pros: true believers in the vegan lifestyle , great food and drinks, fun decor and non-stop surf movies

Cons: haven't found one

Everyone Loves It, Must Try for Out-of-Towners

Yes, the hype is real! Truth! Everyone keeps talking about the wonderful food at No Bones — and they are right! The feed on the Vegan City Seattle Facebook group is filled with pictures of No Bones meals and gleeful comments.

The popularity is warranted. We went to check this out for dinner (busy even on a Tuesday night) and will definitely be back for more drinks, appetizers and to check out the brunch (Sat. and Sun.) everyone's raving about. Update: We've been back for brunch and with friends. The drinks are amazing. I thought nothing could compete with their coconut mojito but their margarita and drink specials like the lychee martini give it a run... I wasn't sure how I felt about a DJ at Saturday breakfast, but the music was great, fun. Love this place. Want to try everything on the menu and getting close...

The menu shows great care. The entrees we tried — buffalo tofu salad and sweet pineapple and soy curl sizzling lettuce wraps — were tasty, appealing and interesting. Since we had a gift certificate (No Bones supported a local feminist event for reproductive rights -- how cool is that?!) we splurged on drinks and dessert as well. The coconut mojito and hula pie (macadamia nut ice cream pie with a cookie crust) were extreme delish treats. Next time(s), we'll bring a couple of friends along to share the joy.

A lot of care has gone into the atmosphere as well — the tiki bar, beach club theme is fun and makes it a unique destination and dining out experience. This place made us feel like we were on a mini-vacation. Can't wait to try it in summer!

It's conveniently located off NW Market Street in Ballard. If you are visiting Seattle this is a must stop perhaps on your way to the Ballard Locks and Discovery and Golden Gardens parks.

Did I mention we'll be back to try all the things? The cauliflower wings, eggplant fries, bear battered avocado tacos, volcano roll and jackfruit flautas etc. etc. are much touted.

Notable: The owners are working with vegan dessert makers Seattle Cookie Counter (the hula pie) and Brown Sugar Bakery on a rotating menu of sweets so there will be more to try. Do ask what's on the dessert menu.

The owners have been supporting the community and the animals for some time. My first experience with their eats (from their food truck days) was at the New Moon Goat Sanctuary fundraiser.

Go and enjoy!

Insanely Delicious!

My wife and I have hit this place four times already (twice with our 22 year old daughter), and cannot say enough good things about it. The Nachos are, well, the best nachos ever, and happen to be vegan. The cashew-poblano queso is rich and flavorful and completely impressed my daughter (who is not vegan--she is a dairy cheese-a-holic). Everything else about the nachos...balanced, flavorful, plentiful, insanely delicious.

The Beer Battered Avocado Tacos are to die for. I already sent a Facebook message to Aaron Sanchez telling him he needed to make a Taco Trip to Seattle for these little gems. First you think, "Oh, they're mimicking fish tacos." Then you eat them and think, "Who cares about fish? Gimme some more avocado tacos!"

The Sweet Pineapple and Soy Curl Lettuce Wraps are incredibly flavorful. They come out sizzling, fajita style, with an array of components that leads to a complex combination of sweet, salty and mildly spicy thrills to your tastebuds.

The North Shore Sky Dive Sandwich turns tofu into a true culinary treasure. Grilling the tofu gives it just the right texture, then the combination of pineapple, ginger glaze and savory, spicy aioli makes the hand held meal simply mouth watering.

The drinks are fun and creative. And yeah, if we're in a Tiki Bar, we're going to have a little something with an umbrella in it. One time I ordered a tasty cranberry, pomegranate cider though--no umbrella, but at least I got some nice antioxidants along with my alcohol!

Pros: The food, The drinks, The atmosphere & staff

Cons: No cons, Could be bigger to serve more people!
