They Didn’t Push It Real Good - Edit
Determined to ring in the new year in style and fully committing to my resolution of attending even more buffets, it felt only right that I kick off on day one with what I hoped would be the first of many sumptuous brunches to come. With numerous positive reviews, this establishment seemed the ideal place to set things off with a bang. Regrettably, it wouldn’t quite be the glorious celebratory feast that I had envisioned.
Read moreThe augurs weren’t great from the off. It never bodes well for a restaurant when the staff are all but perplexed by a simple request such as asking for a drinks menu. However, putting this down to a case of miscommunication rather than a reflection of the general standard of the venue itself, I forged on optimistically, hoping that the food would redeem this inauspicious beginning. Unfortunately, it did not. While there were some slight bright sparks, the aloo chana chat and the stir-fried tofu, they were not enough to carry what was a rather lacklustre culinary performance. The peanut pad Thai was claggy and uninspiring, the roasted vegetables were, bluntly, rather boring, and the aloo paratha was on the dry side. Everything else managed to reach just about acceptable.
While I did manage to salvage a meal from what was available, it would be very difficult for me to recommend this as a destination. Lacking real quality throughout, and with numerous other, far superior options nearby. I highly doubt that I will be gracing them with my presence again.
