Nice and simple - Edit
The atmosphere here is really quiet and peaceful, if that's your thing. The vegan hot pot is really simple. I found it a bit plain in taste, but it's really clean food. Fresh. But could use more flavour. Staff are nice and accommodating

Hot pot for vegans - Edit
This specialty restaurant and yuba shop is one-two blocks north of Shijo dori near the Nishiki market. It has an English menu with one vegan set meal (2400 yen). The hot pot has a generous portion of yuba, greens and mushrooms. It’s served with rice and tea; a small glass of house made soy milk is the last course. the friendly and efficient waitstaff used a translation app to inquire about food allergies and identify the condiments. The restaurant atmosphere is calm and tranquil and if you’re lucky, you’ll get the table overlooking the interior garden. We arrived around 12:00pm and were seated immediately. But the restaurant is small, so I’m sure waiting for a table or making a reservation for peak hours or on holidays might be necessary.

Vegan hotpot - Edit
I didn’t really know what to expect as I’ve never been able to go to a hotpot before but it came out and it was mushrooms and tofu so if you are a fan of those you will love this! I am not sure if i did it wrong but it lacked flavour even though i added the japanese spices. Maybe i need to come back after having some more experience with hotpots!

AMAZING shabu shabu (Japanese hot pot) - Edit
Have a dedicated hot pot selection for vegetarians/vegans. Items included in each shabu shabu offering is standard; all we had to do was tell the staff our dietary restrictions, and they were able to bring out a pot with food that we were able to eat (so what was included was a pleasant surprise for a vegetarian/vegan as well)
Read moreHearty meal without any meat or fish, and probably the best meal I had in Japan.
On the pricier side, but yuba was absolutely delicious. Staff was also very helpful, and answered all of our curious questions.
Meal started with tea, and ended with soy milk.
Pros: Dedicated menu item! , LOVELY staff, very helpful , Lots of courses, and all delicious
Cons: On the more expensive side
