Luxury vegan food

Tasty vegan menu. Cosy in a fancy way. Good for date nights or a casual friday night dinner if you dont give a [censored] and have some money burning a hole in your pocket.

Loved it!

My partner and I came here for dinner shortly after we flew into Helsinki. What a great way to kick off our trip!

Dinner is a prix fixe multi-course fare. You only need to choose either the meat or the vegetarian version. They also cater to vegans upon request, which is what I did (more on that later). They said it was a four-course meal, but really more like eight (I lost count!) including all the tidbits they served in between courses. Everything we had was delicious and beautifully presented. They even served two kinds of homemade bread, both of which exceptional. The cooking was a little experimental with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients. My partner had the meat version and, granted, it had more variety than mine. I thought the vegan version—constructed mostly with root vegetables, albeit perfectly prepared—could've used more diversity.

The staff was friendly and the service warm and personal. I was impressed when the manager/owner asked, after having seated us, who the vegan was, which means he saw the note I put in my reservation. That was reassuring. I do this every time I go to a veg-friendly restaurant just to be sure, but I can count on one hand the number of times I've been asked that question. We got to chat a bit with him as well throughout our meal because two other tables no-showed and we ended up being the only customers there the entire time, which in turn made for an intimate setting.

The restaurant is compact. Seats maybe 20 people max. But the clean, light, minimalist décor lends a sense of space. In a true local-minded fashion, even the water glasses here are recycled from beer bottles that they bring to a workshop nearby to have the tops cut off and processed.

We paid just shy of €100 without drinks, which was quite a deal, and had a fantastic time. All in all, I cannot recommend this place enough!

Pros: great food, personal service, clean minimalist décor

Cons: vegan ingredients a little repetitive

Extraordinary farm-to-table experience

I am SO glad this place was listed on Happy Cow!! Otherwise we never would have found it; only 18 tables, Scandinavian plant-based restaurant. They offered a vegan tasting menu that included dishes like lemon verbena sorbet with celery root granita as an intermezzo, roasted pumpkin with barley risotto as a main dish, and dessert of root vegetable muesli with gooseberry sorbet. Everything was perfectly executed, nice wine pairing options, and the service was intimate, friendly, and informed. We went early (5:30) and were able to chat quite a bit with one of the owners, who did much of the serving himself. Terrific place, cannot recommend it enough!!

Pros: excellent food, vegan tasting menu, great wine pairings

Cons: make a reservation!
