Great food, friendly staff, creative vibe - Edit
The restaurant has a fair few options for starters, mains and deserts. Including a number of daily specials. Food was very good. Staff were friendly and enthusiastic. The interior has a creative, artsy and relaxed feel to it. Some outdoor seating too.

Damn that was good! - Edit
I had the breakfast plate. Really delicious, especially the bread and the 'bacon'. Really big portions for a very reasonable price! Looks like a fun bar to hang out in the evening too

Can't go wrong with the 78! - Edit
My Airbnb host recommended this place, and from the minute I tried dinner there, I knew why. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My family (all of whom are meat eaters) kept raving about the place. We even went back for lunch the next day. Their mochas are also incredible. If they have their strawberry cake, get it for dessert!

Delicious food, healthier options available - Edit
We enjoyed our stay at the 78. The atmosphere was relaxed, there were guests of all age groups. As it's a pub, we had some concerns that the pub might be full of drunkards on a Friday evening, but fortunately this was not the case.
Read moreI had the jackfruit shawarma with rice, which was excellent. For pudding, I ordered churros. They tasted great, but the chocolate "sauce" basically was just water with chocolate flavour.
Service was excellent at first, but we had to wait quite a long time for the bill.
This is a very busy place, so it is advised to book a table in advance.

Really tasty vegan food - Edit
Really nice vegan food. I normally go for spicy food, but my stomach was a little off (unrelated) so I ordered the spaghetti carbonara to eat something gentle. Normally I would not have ordered this dish as I might find it plain, but I'm glad I did because I was totally blown away by how good it was. I would definitely order it again. The soup was delicious as well. My non-vegan partner thoroughly enjoyed the jackfruit shawarma and chips. It does get very busy. Recommend reserving a table. It's also a bar so as dinner went on we began to be surrounding by people standing around us drinking. This was a Sunday mind you. It perhaps wasn't the ideal dining environment. Service also declined as the place filled up.

Great menu not so great service. - Edit
Delicious vegan menu in a great location. Unfortunately I’ve had some unpleasant experiences with staff getting orders mixed up and being rude about it. Otherwise cool atmosphere and music.

Great food and service - Edit
We went on a Saturday at lunch time and a lot of tables were booked. The waiter was good and checked and showed us to a table and gave us menus.
Read moreWow is one word for the menu. We like food that does not look like pretend meat and we were in heaven.
We had three small plates between us. They were all wonderful and well prepared and presented. (we were not very hungry but if we we were hungry there were plenty of other dishes to chose)
It was a great meal, not expensive and we will return.
Pros: !00% Vegan, Good service, Near a buss route
Cons: Many tables were booked

Very good food, pricey drinks - Edit
The food at the 78 is good (less fatty and pub-food like than at the sister-venues Mono/Stereo/Flying Duck, which I liked) and because it is a bit in the west of Glasgow, it is also not overly busy and has an overall good atmosphere. I don't really like the drinks they offer (apart from being the only places in Glasgow which offer Club Mate, but for an outrageous price) and I find them very expensive at 4-6 pounds for a pint of fairly standard beers.

Possibly the best vegan food in Glasgow - Edit
The food at this place is delicious. I'd recommend the carbonara or the classic burger. The patatas bravas and padron peppers are also delicious! This is a great place to go if you're in the West End but I'd recommend booking in advance so you're guaranteed a table, it's been busy both times I've visited even though both were weeknights.

Favourite vegan pub ever! - Edit
Every time we visit Glasgow! We get super excited about visiting the 78. It's super cozy inside and excellent service! Food is always fantastic. If you have time to stop by for breakfast, ooooh it's delicious! Love their wine and beer selections. We feel like home here especially because they are super dog friendly! If you are lucky, you might catch some live music in the evening too!

First place we ate at when we arrived in Glasgow and it definitely set the bar high for every other vegan place. Small friendly pub with its own charm. Staff were lovely and friendly and the food was spot on. It’s a favourite of ours for sure.
