Great Service, Not the Typical Pub Menu! - Edit
The Bridge Inn is a large pub situated beside the striking Menai Suspension Bridge. The pub is popular with drinkers and is open for drinks only on Sundays and Mondays. The kitchen is open Tuesday through Saturday. The menu does not consist of the usual pub grub but is instead made up of street food-inspired dishes.
Read moreThe menu really appealed to me. However, the menu is also what lets The Bridge Inn down for vegans, as the labelling throughout their menu is inconsistent. The starters/small plates of Hummus and Fries were labelled as vegan, as were the Black Bean Soft Shell Tacos. There were dishes on the menu that seemed like they could be vegan but were not labelled as vegan, which included Vietnamese Phil-thy Fries or Nachos and the Pulled Mushroom Soft Shell Taco. The vegetarian labelling was also inconsistent, as some obviously vegetarian dishes were not labelled, such as the Mexican Phil-thy Fries or Nachos and the Halloumi Wrap.
I fancied some Cauliflower Wings (again, not labelled as vegan), and I assumed they were vegan. I asked a member of staff, who informed me that the cauliflower wings are vegan, but only with the Korean Barbeque Sauce. I also went for the Black Bean Tacos. The food looked and smelled amazing as it arrived, and it was tasted just as good. The sauce on the wings was really nice, and the wings themselves were a good size. The taco was well-assembled, which meant the filling wasn’t getting all over me as I ate it, and I thought the charred lime was a nice touch. I also must add that the service here was truly excellent. I didn't catch the name of the woman who served us, but she really went out of her way to make us feel welcome, and she was well informed on the vegan dishes on the menu.
I think The Bridge Inn could do more to be even more vegan-friendly. The obvious place to start is updating the menu so that all available vegan options are clearly labelled. I also think a vegan dessert wouldn’t go amiss, as the only current option is a few scoops of Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream. In conclusion, I think this pub is a good choice for vegans who are into their street food, whether you’re wanting to order a take-away from through Just Eat, or fancy something spicy to go with your drinks!
Pros: Nice Food, Good Vegan Mains Options, Dog Friendly, Nice Atmosphere, Great Staff
Cons: Menu Not Properly Labelled, Boring Vegan Starters & Dessert Options

Much better menu - Edit
New owners and they have updated the menu to have not only more vegan options but different to the usual vegan options you usually see in a pub (I.e. curry).

The most useful staff and chef - Edit
Wow wow wow! What more can I say! This place had nothing on there menu that was vegan but at the bottom of the page it says can fit any dietary requirements! So I called ahead to see if they could cater for vegans and they said they can discuss my options when I arrive! When got there the chef asked what sought of food I liked I said pasta or rice and she told me they used fresh egg pasta so that would not be suitable but she could prepare me a vegan risotto if that's what I fancied she gave me time to think before I notified her that would be lovely she then to my great surprise asked me what vegetables I like to put in it! I picked mushrooms, peppers and onions she then suggested peas as an addition (which worked so well)! I was served the beautiful looking risotto in the most stunning bowl! It was delicious and I can't say more how considerate it was! Then I asked what I could have for dessert and I was served a scrummy lemon sorbet! Friendly understanding staff and delicious food! Bridge inn is a true treat for vegans and I would highly suggest it!
