No longer fully vegan :/ - Edit
This used to be one of my favourite meals in Wellington. This place was great. Unfortunate they're no longer vegan. Such a shame, especially as they were always packed out before when I had visited previously.

Sad that it’s no longer 100% vegan - Edit
Whilst this place still has great vegan options it is now rather off putting. Been there twice since it’s changed over and both times there was an overwhelming smell of calamari and beef so left a rather sour taste.
Read moreIs a real shame as the food is so good but it’s not pleasant dining. Ambience is also not the best.
Pros: Brunch, Burger, Tacos
Cons: Smell of fish, Smell of beef, Lacked ambience

Deserves 6 Stars - Edit
Honestly blown away by how good this place is. The food delicious, the wine I don't usually like but loved. Big call, but one of the best meals I've eaten in NZ.

Fun, tasty fusion tapas - Edit
Good selection of tapas dishes with all sorts of influences. We shared a bunch of dishes with couple of non veg folk and they enjoyed everything too. Highlights included: whipped feta, Southland cheese rolls and the chorizo. We were there on a Sunday, but the restaurant felt a bit flat.

Creative tapas and wine flights - Edit
We enjoyed the wine flights paired with the tapas selection.
Read moreThe flight was really well presented on a board with descriptions well laid out.
Tapas was tasty and varied (and all vegan!)

Great all-rounder - Edit
Great location, friendly servers, good food, good prices, good vibes. Their iced chocolates are a stand-out and how often do you find fully vegan platters? Inside, outside and rooftop seating. Always great music as well. I love stopping by this place - they also participate in a few yearly events like WOAP and McClure's pickles, so every now and then have a new dish to try.

Cons: Rooftop papers and sometimes puddles, Some food misses the mark

Ok - Edit
Didn't personally rate the Mediterranean platter we opted for - a lot of the 'dips' tasted very similar. There were also too many deep fried items on this particular platter - it would have been nicer to have some more greens or perhaps a tomato based salsa for a little variety. Having said that, the pomegranate tofu small plate was delicious! We treated ourselves to the baller champagne flight too, seeing as it's new year but it may have been wasted on my unsophisticated palate as they all tasted very similar to me! 🤣

New classy watering hole. - Edit
We very much plan to make this a monthly if not more frequently rotation. Delicious food. A fabulous ambience. Very attentive and personable staff and very fun selection of bubbles and glasses.

Spending money in capitals - Edit
A self-proclaimed plant-based champagne bar in the centre of Wellington (although they do indicate use of dairy cheese in the weekend menu platters). After witnessing one of the greatest cricket test matches of all time at the Basin Reserve only 15 minutes walk away we thought to give this place a crack. We shared 3 tapas of smashed potatoes (Baby potatoes, masala butter, curry mayo, crispy curry leaves), meat balls and battered tempura artichokes. We also ordered a Sparkling Margarita carafe (sparkling wine, lemon juice, lime juice, agave syrup & lemonade) which was intensely refreshing and delicious. This place is best experienced during the afternoon I think where the atmosphere is calmer and more inviting. No way I’d be navigating my way through on an evening when the whole area becomes a Vic and Bob’s Night Out.

Can confirm the weekend "boujee brunch" menu is now 100% plant based as per what's written on their menu in window and on website. Great review.

Amazing tapas and drinks! - Edit
We went to the Champagneria to try their vegan champagne flights we had heard so much about and were pleasantly surprised to see they had a full vegan tapas and platters menu. The menu sounded so good, it was actually hard to choose. In the end we went for a selection of tapas and a Kiwiana board. Highly recommend, they also have a cute rooftop and do bottomless brunch that we are definitely going to go back for.

Could be so much better - Edit
Location and concept is so good but in reality the food isn't that great and it's not even fully vegan, they have a dairy cheese on the menu... All the food I tried was just okay and overall a bit disappointing

Really disappointing - Edit
I was excited when I saw this new place opening before my trip to Aotearoa and I booked a table weeks in advance. I was looking forward to a relaxed atmosphere and nice food with a hint of luxury. This is not what I got. The bar was noisy, had Prosecco on tap and, rather than the full dinner menu I had seen online, was serving bar snacks, like cauliflower bites, fries, bread and dips, and jalapeño bites. This was really disappointing. There were also long waits for orders. I understand that this was partly a result of staff shortages in hospitality (I will not weigh in too much on that one but I typically see ‘shortages’ as an unwillingness of employers to pay workers proper/market wages) but it was just a sh*tty experience. I felt like I was in a trashy bar rather than a champagne restaurant. Certainly there was a wide range of sparkling and still wines, some of them very expensive, but the atmosphere was not at all relaxing. I really hope this place improves and I don’t want to discourage people from supporting the business, but I can’t really gloss over how disappointing it was.

Yummy platters! - Edit
Popped in to try the new champagne bar after hearing it was plant based, and discovered it was an amazing revamp of the space with its rooftop, gorgeously renovated bar, and a new sunny outdoor area at the front! We shared a bottle of bubbles then had some of their carafes which are really good value at $30 for a litre of sparkling margarita and sangria. Food was fast and super tasty, we shared the Francia platter and the Espana, plus got some fries and cauli bites, then dessert! Will go back for their bottomless brunch one day…highly recommend, lovely knowledgeable staff too.
