Amazing lasagne and meatballs - Edit
I loved it here. I saw the reviews about the wait times but didn't have any problems myself. The lasagne was very creamy and nice. The meatballs and sauce were amazing. The portions are bigger than I thought - the plates are huge so the photos make it look like the portions are smaller than they are.

Excellent kimchi, flexible friendly service - Edit
First of all: I love the name. This place is a cafe/store/restaurant that’s laid back. I had the vegan lasagna which was well constructed and tasteful, though a bit too sweet for my taste. I saw they served kimchi with their curry dish and I really wanted to try that, they were flexible enough to give me a small bowl of kimchi as a side dish. I’m curious to try more of their stuff.

👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 - Edit
That was the worst vegan meal! my friend waited over half an hour for his milkshake. Others who came after us were served drinks. I took a cheese fondue. and got cold side dishes with cold potato slices, sausage slices and mushrooms. They were supposed to be warmed up in the cheese fondue, but the cheese fondue itself wasn't even hot. The candle that was at the bottom was almost empty and it went out shortly after serving. I let the staff know and they gave me a new candle and warmed up the side dishes again, but it was still cold so I had to ask again if they could please warm it up. Only then did they fry the things and the potatoes, mushrooms and sausages were warm. In terms of taste, the side dishes were not seasoned and were really not tasty. The cheese fondue didn't taste like cheese and was really not tasty. I just found the price-performance ratio to be very bad. The fondue with a few potato slices, 4 sausage slices and a few mushrooms cost €18.50! I started eating where my friend had already finished his burger. the burger was okay. I felt more sick after eating than feeling full and happy. But the staff was very friendly to our dog.

Vegan version of traditional Belgian dishes on offer - Edit
It was so nice to finally find a vegan version of a traditional Belgian meal (Boulets sauce Liégeoise)! I also had the black forest pudding for dessert and the house red is a delightful dry wine. They also have a small pantry market of vegan goods. The service was great. I wish they kept the restaurant a little warmer; it was very cold in there today. Otherwise, I had a lovely experience. I read some of the negative reviews about this restaurant about the cuisine being out of date - but I appreciate the variety offered among the many different vegan restaurants in Brussels including this one and it is one of the only places I found with a traditional Belgian dish.

Okay food, but a bit disappointing - Edit
The food was not bad, but it felt like something I would have gotten about 10 years ago when I became a vegan - the seasoning didn’t really feel refined, and it felt more like a meal I would get in the school cantine than something I would get at a rather pricey restaurant.

Disappointed - Edit
We were really looking forward trying a traditional belgian meal in vegan (Boulets sauce Liégeoise). Unfortunately the dish was disappointing, the seitan was bland and the fries were not good, the only thing that was tasty was the sauce. As a starter we had cheese croquettes which were not properly deep fried.

Vraiment pas incroyable ! - Edit

Finally, a decent vegan restaurant in Brussels. - Edit
After getting ripped off at other places in Brussels, we were so happy to come to a place with good food, a washroom, and not overcharging us for water.
Read moreWe had the Boulets sauce Liégeoise, Arancini, Lasagna, cheesecake, and Crème Brulée.
Boulets sauce Liégeoise: this was new for us so we don't know what to expect, but it wasn't bad. Meatballs were flavourful, sauce was unique, and salad was surprisingly good. The fries though, I don't know why they were so good. Very different from how fries are in North America.
Arancini balls: Not bad, but not something we'd order again.
Lasagna: I don't like the taste of dairy cheese and how vegan cheeses often try to mimic that. Instead, they did their own style and the cheese was fantastic. I actually liked this.
Cheesecake: Again, this didn't taste like they were trying to mimic dairy cheese. This was also delicious.
Creme brulee: I've never had this before, even when I was non-vegan, so I have no idea what to expect. Can't say I'm a fan of this though. Very small and weird to eat.
We only had 2 days in Brussels and we came here twice. Would love to try the rest of their menu sometime.

A huge disappointment - Edit
I can't explain the glowing reviews found here or on Google.
Read moreThis restaurant must have benefited from referencing, being one of the few in Brussels to clearly display the word 'Vegan' in its name.
I arrived on a Sunday and the place was relatively deserted.
I take a seat, and my neighbours at the next table receive their orders shortly afterwards. Dish after dish, I hear them have a huge laugh because the food isn't very good, they try to warn me but my order is already taken.
After about thirty minutes of waiting (a little extreme for a plate of grilled vegetables with hummus), I came to the same conclusion. The food was decent, but nothing incredible (at the same time, it's hard to fail on a plate like this), and the presentation was a bit sad, for a very inflated price.
I left frustrated with my meal, thinking I'd found another good deal in Brussels after reading so much about it.
Having tasted my neighbours' dishes, I really got the impression that the vegan cuisine was 15 years out of date. Since this restaurant openly displays the term vegan in its name, I feel that it has a responsibility to represent this cuisine to the uninitiated. I'm afraid that anyone who is sceptical about this cuisine will find their opinions confirmed after eating at the Judgy Vegan.
At least I've made some new friends!

Cosy place with great view - Edit
We really liked the location – it's situated in narrow, calm and steep street with a great view up to the Palais de Justice de Bruxelles. They offer local and unique food with extraordinary recipes. And they offer great beers (Brussel beer project) and unique cocktails with bio ingredients with as well as without alcohol (with alcohol much more expensive which is reasonable). It has to be said that the quality also has it's price.

Alright but wouldn't go out of my way to go again - Edit
Staff were friendly but service was slow. I was told to sit and someone would be out to take my order. It wasn't nparticularly bust and after 15 minutes no one had come so I asked someone delivering food to a table who told me she works in the kitchen (fair enough! Although I had no idea if she going to let someone know when she went inside). I ended up going inside and asking and the woman said she had been just about to come 🤷♀️. Other than that though service was good and the food came quickly. This MAY just be my own personal taste because I have never tried it before , but i had boulets sauce liégeoise and found the sauce tasted kind of cheap (sort of like tomato ketchup, so quite sweet and without richness), but it could just be that the sauce is for me! Chips are apparently homemade (they might be) but I found them pretty disappointing. It was super expensive but compared to other places I went on Brussels I would expect better quality for what I paid.
