Cool, relaxed bar in the heart of old town. Not a regular restaurant, more a “grab grub and drinks at the bar” kind of place. Flavors on point, we went nuts over the tortillas español, three different kinds, all delicious. Will return whenever in Bilbao.

I recommend the tortilla (without eggs).
The place is a bar, so this is noisy (we went in the evening). Don't expect to spend a romantic evening.
All Pintxos are not protected from the outside (sputter, bacteria,...)

This is in a vibrant area of the town. They have a wide variety of beers. The food is lovely and because it’s all vegan there’s no danger of ordering anything containing meat.

A unique and small place inside of the old town. Friendly staff and the food was okay. Some pintxos were a bit tasteless and others were really good. Inside the smell of certain magical herb was present in the air, but who cares.

We started our vegan pintxos "evening" in this bar (and went to K2 afterwards). We ordered draught beer (they had Amstel, Heineken and Guinness; we chose Amstel) and one pintxo per person (they had three different falafel-ish balls, one roll and four different tortilla; we chose one ball and the roll), paid 3,70 € per person. Music was good, beer was good, pintxos were good, service was friendly, and yet the atmosphere was a bit awkward (as tourists, we didn't seem to fit in there).

No se porque pone que no es un bar vegetariano, yo siempre he visto solo opciones veganas excepto una tortilla vegetariana, pero nunca nada omnivoro. Los pintxos están muy buenos y son muy elaborados, y el camarero te los explica todos muy amablemente. Parada recomendable en la calle Somera.

Tirauki is in one of the most busy streets a Friday or Saturday night, surrounded but several pintxos bars. But in this place, almost all the pintxos are vegan!
Read moreI tried different types of vegan Spanish tortillas, a tofu ball covered in a tasty sauce and quinoa, another pintxo with with seitan and a couple of beers. The food is gorgeous, tasty, imaginative and inexpensive. The place was packed, with an alternative, open and nice vibe. Really friendly staff.

The staff was amazing, they explained me all the pintxos available and made some specials (vegan) to me. It was an amazing meal and it was all so tasty.

We found this bar on Happy Cow and were thrilled to arrive and have 6 vegan tapas to choose from (only 1 meat option which we were advised not suitable for us) all very appetising and filling. We had 4 each and were stuffed! The chocolate cake was great too! Very inexpensive night out, 3 x 4 tapas, 5 drinks and 1 cake = 26€. Great relaxed atmosphere too.

I found this places in Bilbao's Old Town courtesy of HappyCow. There were at least 4 or 5 vegan pintxos, alongside a similar number of non-veg ones. I tried a sandwich with tofu and seitan, a small tofu salad on bread, and another pintxo with quinoa. All were really good, and at less than €2 each you can definitely try a few. My non-veg friends enjoyed the vegan options as much as the ones with meat. Staff were helpful in explaining the food (in Spanish - don't know how much English they speak!).

I had spotted the word 'veganos' outside this bar late one night. Having not eaten we went into this lively bar and tried to get something. Being late there was only one vegan pintxos left. The friendly proprietor invited us to come back the next day, as they made 7 vegan pintxos daily. So we did! Pedro took the time to explain each plate, (we had all 7), nimble with the Google translate! Each was delicious and sublime. Obviously, each plate is small but that just means you can try them all. Pedro came over as very passionate and enthusiastic about the food he was creating. Friendly vibes and great food in the heart of the old town.
