Nice curry - Edit
I really liked the curry there, it was (not too much) spicy.
Read moreI had the double veggie curry which means you have both of the vegetarian options on the plate, the rice between them.
There were some vegetables on it and you can order the spinach curry without garlic and without spicy.
It was a huge portion and even I got full.
Pros: You must not choose - can have it both ways

Delicious curry - Edit
Easy to find. Vegetarian options are on separate page in the menu which has English text for everything. Took a salad and double veggie curry, portion size was quite right to fill me up after day in Nara park. Price is reasonable.

Metcha-oishii! - Edit
Clean and cozy curry shop in a convenient location near Kintetsu-Nara station on the way towards the park, inside the shopping arcade. Food is quickly made to offer and even during busy times, we did not have to wait long.
Read moreThey only have two vegetarian curries to choose from (or you can have both on the mixed plate) but they were both so delicious we ended up eating here several times during our stay in Nara. My personal favorite was the spinach and bean curry. If you eat eggs, the omurice is also delicious and comes with a curry of your choice.

Really great curry - Edit
Very tasty, have a couple of non meat options, had the "double veg curry" and it really hit the spot after an afternoon walking Nara Park area.

Loved my curry - Edit
Really yummy, good serving, not too pricey. Had the mixed veg one, where you get both. The spinach one was better but both good. The hot paste and nut oil was also really good. Great option if traveling with omnis.

Delicious and cheap veggie curry - Edit
Delicious flavourful spinach and bean curry, which was very reasonably priced (780 yen with a small portion of rice, or 880 yen with a standard rice poportion). Husband had the sesame vegetable curry, which was richer and slightly less spicy. I preferred the spinach curry.
Read moreFriendly and informal place, with very quick service. Highly recommend for a filling, tasty and cheap meal in Nara.

This place is great! - Edit
Ordered: Spinach and bean vegetarian curry (they say it’s vegetarian, but it’s vegan too) with a small serving of rice. You can specify the amount of rice you want — half, small, regular, large, or extra large. Got a curry with a spinach based sauce. Had chickpeas and kidney beans in it and was topped with pumpkin, okra, fried potato, and bell pepper. All one slice of each.
Read moreFirst thing I noticed here was that the menu is super inclusive. There is something for vegans/vegetarians, omni’s, halal (no pork options), hindu (no beef options), and people with allergies. The menu is also in English and allergens are written beside each entry.
There are two veg options: a spinach/bean curry, and a mixed veg curry. Curry is TASTY but also a little bit spicier than your regular run-of-the-mill Japanese curry (my non-veg aunty ordered one of the hotter curries and said it was hot even for her Burmese/Indian standards). The heat level of the curry is written on the menu though, and you can always ask the staff to make the curry more/less spicy if you’d like.
Good value for money! For the portions you get, the price is pretty good. The small sized rice kept me full for quite a while!
Keep in mind that this place is small to medium sized. Could probably seat 20 people at most. For those who are interested, this place is Tripadvisor recommended but I can’t remember for what year.
Love this place, and love Nara too! Would rate 5/5 if I could because of the menu's inclusiveness and flexibility with customising your order.
More pros are listed here since I couldn't add more than 3.
- Not too far from Kintetsu Nara station and also close to other places with vegan options (Kururu, China Dining Hiten, LBK Craft, Zen, CoCo Ichi)
- Large portion sizes and good value for money
Pros: Easy to find & good central location, Super inclusive menu & allergens clearly listed, Flexible with order customisation
Cons: Stingy with the veggies they topped the curry with, Not an issue though, because they weren't, stingy with the spinach or beans!
