Great Option in the Vegan Food Desert of Florence

Vegan options in Florence are very far and few between. Traveling with a non-vegan in this city made dining out a bit of a challenge. The vegan places in town were very limited in their offerings, and there weren't many of them to begin with. The non-vegan places with vegan options were mostly a joke with a sad salad offered.

Then we came across Yellow Bar. From the minute we sat down the staff was fully aware of a vegan diet and needs and walked me thru the menu, what was already vegan as is and what could be modified. When we made a misstep and ordered something non-vegan they flagged it and suggested a modification. While it's not a robust vegan meal, it's better than anywhere else I went in Florence. Other places I was limited to a salad and some boiled vegetables, here I had apps, pasta, pizza.

In addition to just having options they are also open late which is nice as a lot of places are not in this area. And the service is quick. We stopped in before leaving for one last meal and we were in and out in 45 minutes start to finish. The place is also incredibly affordable as well.

Besides having options and good hours the food is great. The pizza is like nothing else I have had, it is so wonderfully crisp and thin but also chewy with a great taste. The simple marinara pizza is a must try, it's just their marinara with garlic and oregano with olive oil, it's one of the best things I have ever eaten. Their pasta and the sauces that are vegan are all wonderful, recommend the spicy pasta with the garlic and chili.

I wish they were reviewed in more places and had more of an online presence, I would've found them earlier and not have starved for days.

Cons: Lack of online menu and info, 3 hour closing in middle of day -standard for area
