Delicious mostly vegan restaurant - Edit
Family style Asian restaurant with shareable plates made from soy and seitan. Great choices of soups, dim sums, mains, noodle- and rice-based dishes. Exactly what you would expect from an Asian mock meat restaurant. Ideal for groups to share different dishes.

Got takeout for dinner with my fiancé’s non-veg family and everybody loved it. We all took second helpings! The seitan was definitely the star of the show.

I have been a regular at this location for the past 12 years. They have a great selection of dishes, excellent soups and dimsum. Make sure you pay attention to the menu markings that indicate if the ingredients include egg or dairy- but most items are vegan. It gets super busy at times so make sure to call in for reservations. The prices are also quite high but you will love it

They only do takeout when we visited on 19th of Feb, 2022.

We had made the trek to check this place out but when we got there, there was no dine-in available (when current Covid reopening allowed dining in). We got takeout instead but a few items we wanted were not available. Staff were helpful recommending alternates. Taste was good. Will try again sometime.

Special place in my heart for Zen Garden - Edit
Every time I’ve visited Toronto I’ve made sure to go here at least once. This place is so good and they are so friendly and inviting I usually don’t want to leave. Ive tried a ton of the menu and I’ve never had something I didn’t like. This is a special place worth the travel. Make sure to try the Tom Yang vermicelli noodle soup and the crystal rolls!!!!!!

Awesome variety of dishes and great service! - Edit
I love this place! Try and go every couple if months. They have a really good variety of mock meats and flavour and prepare them in unique ways that I really appreciate. Their service is perfect and the staff are always so welcoming and kind. I'm a dessert person above all else and their magic bars are legit.

Worst experience ever - Edit
Had a terrible experience. Went there for lunch on Mother's day with the family. They were very busy, which is understandable. The order took a long time, which is ok too considering it is one of the busiest days of the year. One of the appetizer items we ordered took so long that they brought it at the end after the dessert. What made it worse was the fact that the owner/manager was rushing us so much that she wouldn't let us finish or order any more food. She wanted us out of the restaurant. She was practically yelling at us and almost made my 8 year old nephew cry. The food was ok. I feel bad for the waitress who was trying to help and she got yelled at as well in front of everybody. Ruined Mother's day for us. Will not be going back. If I had negative stars, I would give -5 for service the way the manager handled everything.

I have always loved Zen Gardens, the staff is very friendly, the food is always well made and yummy! My favorite is their miso soup, veggie rice and noodles. In the summer I love the sushi platter.

I've been here a lot. It's about 40km (one way) for me to come here but me and my hubby think it's worth. The food may be a bit pricey but taste really good. We've tried so many dishes here. The noodles soup we love the most is "noodles braised with the soy sauce". We also love their combos, too. Anyway, it's a very nice restaurant to go and try.

This is a nice restaurant to enjoy a special evening as the staff are very considerate and the atmosphere quiet and relaxing. They also do spiritual "tea-tastings" on Fridays (noon to 9pm) for $10/person. I haven't done that yet but look forward to experiencing that sometime soon and updating my review! I suspect there is quite a bit of sodium used in the seasoning as I am usually hungry and thirsty an hour after eating here.

I've been to the Cambridge, Guelph, London and Mississauga locations and they are all fantastic.
Read moreThe menu tends to vary at each location with same dishes being vegan at some locations but not at others (not sure why?) - but overall I can always find something great to eat at any of them.
I have even dined with my very discerning and meat loving father at Zen Gardens for lunch and he was impressed by the food.
I tend to frequent the Mississauga location the most, the ladies on staff are always welcoming.

This is part of King's Vegetarian Food group of restaurants which also includes King's Cafe in Toronto, Zen Garden in Moncton, and a bunch of others scattered across Ontario, Quebec and the east coast.

The restaurant looks brand new and beautiful, but it's located in an unfortunately developed area (Mississauga, natch).
