Cute new location

It was the first time I got to visit their new location and it was really cute. They got a lot of dry food in bulk, fresh produce, salads, 3 sandwiches are clearly marked as vegan and they have homemade soups, vegepaté and frozen meals. They have a small café corner with coffees, teas, smoothies and sandwiches. 10% off bulk the last Sunday of the month.

Pros: Friendly staff, Swings 😍

Cons: Not 100% vegan, No pastries clearly marked as vegan

Bulk Selection

Great place to get items and ingredients in bulk. I like getting my spices here. They also have kombucha on tap and prepared vegan meals. The frozen vegan meals are often 50% off.

Pros: Fully vegan, Lots of bulk items, Friendly service

Refillery, groceries and coffee bar

Lots of bulk items plus fresh produce and a coffee bar with deli salads and pastries. Lots of vegan food, but also eggs and dairy. Store-brand frozen meals (no cooking instructions given; I thawed in fridge, then microwaved 4 minutes, which seemed to work okay). The shepherd’s pie was good; the Madras curry was a bit dry but had a good flavour; and the Lebanese maghmour was nicely spicy.
No English signage, and some staff don’t speak English.

Nice Store

We visited to check out their vegan to-go meals. Sadly they didn't have much available. However we did purchase a vegan bar of mint soap. It was a really nice shop, where reducing waste is a priority. They do however still sell honey and animal bullion. It can be difficult to keep in mind but removing animal products would reduce a lot of waste. We were actually surprised to see these items as they seem to be aware of the impact of animal products and are working to reduce environmental impact and waste.
The staff were all very friendly and accessible.

Parking: We only saw street parking

Cons: Not 100% vegan

Really cheap

I love this zero-waste shop ! It's so cheap, I buy brown rice, peanut butter, nuts, oat, shampoo... for months and for 30 $ !

It made me discover Segal's market ...

Frenco has a nice selection of spices, flours, nuts and grains, to name a few. It's pricey, but has the great advantage of being right next to Segal's market--my favourite place to buy low-priced vegan goods! I usually buy nutritional yeast or TVP at Frenco and finish my shopping next door.

Still, it has a nice ambiance and I like the way everything is packed away in tubes. Beware of the prices-by-weight.

Pros: location, variety

Cons: expensive!
