Absolutely fantastic! - Edit
I absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a clear must-visit for me. The menu offered a delightful mix of flavors, with creative combinations of fresh ingredients that were completely new to me. Every dish was well crafted, and it was clear that a lot of care went into the preparation. The staff was super nice and friendly. If the restaurant weren't so far away, I’d definitely become a regular!

Awesome food, but pricey! 💚😋 - Edit
This place is a bit more on the pricey side, so perfect for a nice date night.

All dishes were yummy! The food takes a while since the owner is preparing almost everything alone, but it’s worth waiting.

Overrated - Edit
The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, but in my opinion it’s overrated. It’s expensive, the portions are pretty meager and the food is just fine.

The most delicious food I've ever had! - Edit
This place is entirely vegan and the food is made with organic ingredients and local vegetables and everything we had was amazing and sooo flavourful! We went here on the way back to Tokyo from enoshima. The place is quite small and super cozy, and the staff is super friendly and really makes you feel welcome! We were the last people to leave the restaurant and the chef and waitress stood outside and waved to us as we walked away!

THE Best Date Night - Edit
This was our second time eating at Harukucchii and I was just as enchanted as I was the first time. This tiny, magical restaurant is the perfect way to spend a romantic evening out. Portion sizes are small which gives you the opportunity to try many different things. I highly recommend the marsala chocolate bon bons for dessert; literally THE best chocolates I’ve ever had. I’d also recommend asking the host (Haru-san) for his suggestion on which wine to have with dinner. My husband told him he wanted “something interesting” and was served the most unique, golden-colored Georgian wine that had been aged in clay pots for 6 months. Other highlights of our visits have been the crispy “cheese” snacks, avocado sashimi, fresh spring rolls, and shiitake mushrooms with truffle salt.

It’s been a year since I’ve been here and I still think about their incredible vegan chicken substitute and the incredible creativity in their dishes. An absolute must-go location if you’re a vegan in Japan. The manager is so kind and friendly, and speaks quite good English. I miss you Haru!!

Classy restaurant, delicious food in small portion sizes - Edit
I came here for dinner with two friends. It is a small restaurant with one table that seats 4, 2 tables that seat 2 and a counter with four seats. Very nice vibe, romantic lighting, dried roses and string lights decoration.
Read moreThe menu has half cold items and half hot items, and they have a selection of wines, beers, organic fruit juice as well as coffees and teas. The menus have both Japanese and English on them. We had the smoked tofu cheese, marinated avocado, spaghettini, pickled vegetables, and then each tried one of the desserts (kiwi cheese cake, chocolate ice cream cake, and wine marinated chocolates). Everything was absolutely delicious. The portions were small, although the pasta was a normal size for one person.
When the waitress brought out the food she explained where each ingredient came from (such as Tofu from Okinawa, etc). She explained in Japanese so I'm not sure if the same would happen in English. However, there was a couple that came in and were sitting at the counter and chatting to one staff member behind the bar, so it seems that there is at least some English accessibility.
Overall great find, would highly recommend.
Pros: Beautiful atmosphere, Nice, informative staff, Delicious, high quality food
Cons: Limited seating, Smaller portion sizes

Carefully prepared and presented food - Edit
This is a small but perfectly formed vegan restaurant we discovered thanks to Happy Cow after a day out in Kamakura and Enoshima. You can see that the menu has been thought through really well and it's clear that they are passionate about the food. There was a lovely selection of dishes and I can personally recommend the rich and creamy risotto.

I can here after a long day mt.fuji area. I got there about 20min before 10pm and didn't know if I had arrived after the kitchen had closed. But the owner was really sweet and said it was no problem. Both the chefs were awesome, service and food-wise. I also had the pleasure of chatting with them and another customer, which was as good as the food/service.

Lovely vegan meal - Edit
Cute little place close to the train station. All vegan, menu has English text, and one of the owners spoke a little English. We stopped in for lunch and had a tasty cold soup, the brown rice set meal with a variety of different dishes (homemade tofu, pickles, edamame, etc.) and a rice bowl with fried soy chicken. Everything was delicious and the portion size was just right!

Nice vegan restaurant. - Edit
Nice vegan restaurant with relatively large selection. I choosed grilled vegetables with fake chicken meet in special tomato souce. It was really delicious. Also koji icecream and non-alcoholic french organic wite wine. The restaurant has a large selection of red and white wines and is excellent for wine lovers though I did not try since I stopped drinking alcohol 2 years ago. The owner speaks very good English and is very polite and nice person. Will definitely return.

Try the dinner course! - Edit

One of our members, the lovely Brigitte, had raved to me once about the dinner she had at harukucchii, and we finally got to try it for ourselves. We called the night before and made a reservation for the 11-dish menu (which with the required one drink order and tax came to about 4500 yen per person). When we got there, our table was waiting for us, complete with a personalized menu. What a nice surprise!
The dining room is small, but really charming and cosy, with lots of hanging plants and nice jazz music playing in the background.
As each course came out, the staff carefully explained each dish. We could tell that so much care went into the presentation and preparation of each course. Our culinary journey was a pure delight from start to finish. The meal was perfectly paced— the dishes came not too slowly, and not too quickly. I genuinely enjoyed everything I was served, but some highlights were the grilled summer vegetables, and the fried konjac.
harukucchii only seats 12 (eight table seats, four counter) and fills up quickly, so we recommend making a reservation. The dinner course is a little pricey, but it’s so, so worth it. I can’t wait to go back!
Pros: Amazing food, Fantastic service , Cosy setting
Cons: A little pricey

A really nice time in a really nice place - Edit
Harukucchii is a really nice restaurant :) I went there for lunch and thought the space is beautiful and the food and owners too. I think the portions were totally fine and reasonably priced. I had the brown rice plate and I enjoyed trying a variety of foods, all felt special. My partner got the fried soy meat bowl and enjoyed it too. We also got dessert, fermented rice ice cream and chocolate iced cake, all worth it. I also was curious about the drinks since there were some rare ones compared to what you get usually, and the rice milk I had was really good and refreshing, I’m glad I tried it! The owners were really friendly, warm and open to talk. We had a really good time and I want to go back! Dinner seems to have a large variety of options even though more costly, including different courses. I just wish it was closer to where I live, but it’s easily accessible so I don’t see any problem with it, totally recommend.

An Amazing Experience - Edit
As other reviews have mentioned, the menu is only in Japanese but the owner was extremely helpful and explained the menu to us line by line. We ordered 6 appetizers, 2 main courses, and 1 dessert which was a good amount of food for two hungry people.
Read moreThe store is small but extremely cute.
The food was absolutely delicious. My favorite appetizer was likely the eggplant. The battered and deep fried cheese was also very interesting and unique. My partner really like the avocado sashimi. It was also very unique and normally I would have said the avocado was under-ripe but I think that was perhaps the point, chewy avocado with great flavor.
The meals we got were the mushroom ricotta gratin and the spaghetti. I loved both of them. The spaghetti had an herb-y flavor that paired extremely well with the tomatoes and the cashews, delicate flavors extremely well combined. The gratin had a wonderful creamy texture and great mushroom flavor.
Overall I would say if you're in the area, you have to try this place. Was a bit pricy but I would pay almost anything for an experience like that.
Also just to add a fun little story: the owner asked us where we were staying (a hotel near the station) and gave us directions to get back. When he noticed we were walking the wrong way he ran after us in the rain to notify us of that fact. Just adorable.

The best food I had in Japan - Edit
Go here, this place is amazing. The owner and staff are super friendly and just so welcoming. It's a small-ish (by western standards) place which can be super awkward when you're essentially sitting in the kitchen, but not here. The dishes are separated into appetisers and mains: we split 4 appetisers and 2 mains. The food is phenomenal, I got burned by spaghetti in Japan, but this guy nails it. The vegan cheeses are so far off the Richter scale that every time you order them they send out an earthquake warning to the immediate area. We came here from Tokyo for a day trip on a bartenders recommendation and it was a highlight of our 2 week holiday. Go to Fujisawa and Kamakura, go to this place! Do it!!

My favourite after 1+ months in Japan - Edit
A five minute walk from Fujisawa train station. I was on my way back from Kamakura, but I'd recommend visiting Fujisawa just to eat here. It. Was. Spectacular. I had actually changed the day of my visit to Kamakura so I could go here (it's closed on Tuesdays) and I thought I was being silly, but this was a great decision. It's a really tiny space (maybe ten or twelve seats) and it's not cheap, but boy is it good. Did I mention it was delicious? I would normally be hesitant with these prices, but thanks to their free wifi (password: harukucchii01) I found out the US election results after a day of being offline and decided to just drown my sorrows in gourmet vegan food.
Read moreThe menu is not available in English, but the waitress gladly translated every single item for me. There are loads of options, and really interesting ones that I haven't seen elsewhere. I had spicy edamame, which came with a warning from the chef: "this is too spicy. That red one is danger. Be careful, okay?" It was perfect (I love spicy food). I didn't eat the red chilli that sat on top because I didn't want to destroy myself for the rest of the meal, but I did lick it. I had also ordered rice milk, which was rich and creamy and a great compliment to the spice. I also ate fried potatoes, which were simple but perfectly seasoned and cooked, plus deep fried konnyaku, which came with lettuce and a little dish of salt to dip. Everything just tasted incredible. I followed up with hojicha, and matcha 'tiramisu'. I don't like tiramisu, but in my experience so far Japan's idea of tiramisu is varied and unusual, and I'm game for anything with matcha. It was a green, creamy layered sponge in a dish. Good stuff.
I was seated at the bar so I could somewhat see into the kitchen, and chatted with the chef and waitress. I paid just over 4,000 JPY for the meal in total, which is more than I would normally pay for dinner, but for this quality of food and service was totally fine.
This is probably my favourite in Japan (touring vegan food in Kobe, Osaka and Tokyo for a few weeks) so far!
