Amazing smoked salmon alternative - Edit
Vegan salmon lox bagel, one of my fave foods before so very happy I could taste it again - I genuinely thought it wasn’t vegan at first

Delicious vegan food - Edit
We went to LOV twice while in Montreal – once for lunch and once for dinner. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. The entree salads are HUGE – I got three meals out of it, but the regular entrees are the perfect size.

Excellent Food & Service - Edit
We chose Lov McGill to celebrate our anniversary and they didn’t disappoint. Starting with cocktails and the famous dumplings, we shared a pair of entrees. All extremely delicious. We found room for desert, and left extremely satisfied. This is world class vegan food!

Not my favorite - Edit
A group of us went and my first thought at seeing the menu was that it was overpriced. Then I noticed there was a separate lunch menu, and the same dishes cost a few dollars MORE at lunch. I didn't ask why and there may be a good reason, i.e., maybe the lunch portions are bigger (I am used to lunch menus being slightly cheaper and smaller portions). But when faced with prices that already seem a bit high, having to spend even more because it's lunch was an unpleasant surprise.
Read moreA couple people in the party got the "fish" tacos and liked them. I got the lasagna, which came in a cute little iron baking dish with a side salad (just greens and a couple cherry tomatoes). The lasagna was sort of lukewarm. Not cold at all, but certainly not hot like I expected. While it was fine, it wasn't better than what I could make myself. It lacked pizzazz.
The restaurant is really striking and quirky, in a good location, and I'd give another dish a try but I won't be rushing back.
Pros: Interior is nice enough to impress , Varied menu
Cons: My dish was nothing special, Kind of pricey

Slow!!! - Edit
I hope you have all day to wait and don’t you dare arrive hungry. There will be plenty of time for you to get hungry before your food is brought to your table. They take forever to take your order then you have to wait another lifetime for the food to actually show up. At least it was hot.

great burger - Edit
i had a really great burger here! however, although the restaurant used to be entirely vegan, they have added a vegetarian section on their menu featuring eggs and dairy, which is extremely disappointing and in my opinion, unnecessary.

Fancy, delicious, not fully vegan - Edit
Went for dinner and the menu was a bit confusing: there is a “vegetarian menu” section to it for dishes that have egg and cheese. The standard menu is vegan, but many of the dishes on the vegetarian menu have counterparts on the vegan menu, so be careful to specify.

Good fusion food - Edit
Tasty food and nice cocktails
Read moreWe tried salmon tartar, i would have added some spice, perhaps wasabi cream or miso to it.
The mushroom sandwich was tasty, and plenty umami.
The palm calamari, very tasty. These starters were all good.
The fish tacos were good as well, good consistency and flavor.
The salmon bagel was also good but served in 2 halves, not sure if you were meant to put it together yourself? Or eat 1 half with no salmon? The fried capers were a bit fun but i think some additional spice would help such as ginger, wasabi, pepper, horseradish.
Deserts brownie (i didnt care for the rasberry jam) the creme brule was good but somewhat burnt.
Awesome cocktails.

So It is no longer entirely vegan but the food is good and there are still plenty vegan options. Today I had the vegan cheese burger and fries with vegan mayo and it was spot on

Brunch - Edit
Cons: Un peu sec

Delicious and good service - Edit
The food was creative and tasty loved the carrot soup. I let my boyfriend choose the small plates for us to share and we ended up with too much fried food but it was good especially the vegan calamari.

Who doesn’t love a vegan brunch? The menu looked so good that it was hard to choose! I ended up getting the lux bagel and golden latte, and my friend got the curry and a pear mimosa. It was all delicious!

Always delicious (but I wish they had more options) - Edit
Food at LOV is always delicious, and the atmosphere is great. I highly recommend it to any tourist in Montreal. (I only wish they had more gluten-free options and more soy-free options, to incentivize people to come back more often.)

Tasty food with great ambiance - Edit
My husband, my child, and I shared a Big LOV burger, the fried mushroom burger, lentil soup, and fries. The Big LOV burger was amazing and one of the best burgers we’ve had. The soup was also delicious. The mushroom burger was not great, cooked a bit too much and not super flavourful. The food is pricey but the restaurant has great ambience, the staff was super nice, and we really enjoyed most of our meal. We did not have a reservation for lunch and had no issue getting a table but they do close between lunch and dinner.

A lovely little restaurant in Montréal - Edit
My boyfriend and I were visiting Montréal and were thrilled to discover LOV McGill a few blocks from our hotel. We ate there Thursday evening after checking into our hotel" We enjoyed a Forest Crostini, toasted bread with mushrooms as a starter and then got our entrees. As is sometimes the case, I liked my boyfriend's mushroom risotto more than my mushroom "burger" (fried oyster mushrooms), and he liked mine, so we switched. It's also not uncommon for us to switch dishes while we're eating. I also appreciate that they have lovely creative mocktails since I avoid alcohol. We enjoyed our experience so much we made reservations then and there for Sunday so we could have a quick brunch before we had to leave for the airport.
Read moreFor brunch, I got the tofu benedict, which was pretty good if a bit unusual. The vegan benedicts I've had before usually scramble the tofu but LOV used breaded and sliced tofu instead. My boyfriend got the Lux Bagel that oddly had lemon slices on it (I would expect lemon to be on the side to make it easy to squeeze over the dish). I think my favorite part of brunch was the perfectly cooked home fries made of potatoes grown in Québec.
I don't know when I'll get back to Montréal, but when I do, I plan to go back to LOV.
Pros: all vegan, friendly service, potatoes are very good
Cons: expensive
