Best falafel in town?

In the city centre, a stone's throw from the Grand Place, behind Fontainas Square, hidden in Bogaardenstraat, you'll find this little no-nonsense eatery where you'll be served probably the best falafel in town in a whole-wheat pita roll. The vegetables are self-service. For 11 euros, you have a nice and tasty nutritious meal, drinks included!

Pros: Vegan!, Great falafel , Simple and cheap

Delicious

One of the best (egyptian) falafels in town. The owner is always very friendly. The vegetabled to add to your bread are delicious as well. The spicy sauce is recommended!

Pros: Delicious, You can take as much salad and veggies as you want

Cons: Not so cozy to sit inside

Brussels’ Best Falafel: Affordable, Delicious, and Vegan-Friendly

This restaurant is a hidden gem for falafel lovers! The falafel is top-notch—super flavorful and delicious. Prices are incredibly affordable, making it great value for the quality. The owner is exceptionally warm and welcoming, adding to the wonderful experience. With about 90-95% of the menu being vegan (except for a few salads), it’s an ideal spot for plant-based food enthusiasts. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Brussels!

No-frills deliciousness

One thing: falafel in pita with a salad. Vegan but for a couple of salad things.

Proper falafels

This place has so many good reviews, and to be honest it's a bit difficult to understand. The positives are that the falafel itself is really good and proper, and that you get wholewheat bread. However, I don't wanna buy and grab my own stuff when I go to a place. I pay for someone having thought througg what composes a good meal, but I also get that people like picking and choosing. The things you can choose are alright, but nothing special. The place is not very welcoming, so I recommend doing take away.

Are all of these other reviews fake?

I mean the falafel was edible - far from being the “best falafel ever” as people are claiming - but the place was also not really a cool environment to be in. Not sure if I’m missing anything here but yeah…

Great falafel and salad

This is a very traditional/authentic place. Don’t expect luxury - there is no menu and no price list just falafel. The man will give you a little box and you can fill with salad which was great and then you can add salad to the falafel in pita. Really cool cheap place

Best falafel i have eaten

Really fast service and verry friendly man!
You can choose your own toppings and just ask what isnt vegan, there are only 3 things out of the more than 20 toppings not vegan... Falafes were super delicious and even too cheap!

Pros: Suuuper delicious, Cheap, Almost everything is vegan

Cons: You cant stop after 1 falafel , Nothing, Nothing

He's the best

Mr. Falafel might be the best restaurant in Brussels. Understated, kind of a hole in the wall, but with the best falafel salad selection around and the friendliest owner who makes you smile no matter if you speak the same language or not. When I went there the deal was you could go back for seconds of salad if you wanted to. Not sure if that's still the case, but if it is, Mr. Falafel still rocks.

Cheap and cheerful

It's a very cheap cheerful falafel. It has a cafe/canteen style seating and the bread is standard small circular brown pita bread with nice enough falafel balls. You get that with a separate box where you can choose from a wide variety of salad fillers and saucers.

It's one of the cheapest meals I had in Brussels so it's very good value. However, the falafel itself, despite the the wide variety of the salad bar, is still standard kebab style fare and not very special.

Pros: good value for money, lots of variety in the fillers

Cons: canteen style seating, could use some tabouli

Yummy falafels !

If you want to grab a quick meal in the city centre, you should go there. It's a fuss free place, really affordable with only one option: one pita bread filled with tasty homemade falafels and a make-your-own salad buffet. If you're vegan you have to ask the staff which preparation is vegan or not, same for the sauces. They knew what 'vegan' meant when I went so that's always a plus. It's a snack type of place, it's not very cosy but the taste and the price (5€) offsets it. I want more places like this.

Pros: tasty, cheap & fast, friendly staff

Cons: not cosy, ingredients not listed

Simply delicious.

My partner and I were looking for a quick filling evening meal. We were not disappointed. He makes the falafel when you order so it's fresh out of the fryer. The falafel is really soft and moist, not dry like you find in a supermarket. Also, the guy who owns the place is lovely!

Pros: Good, filling and delicious food.
