Perfect for nice occasions - Edit
I’ve been on two occasions now, and each was stellar. The food is nothing shy of perfect. Vegans and non-vegans alike will have a great time dining in the upscale, friendly atmosphere of Plum Bistro.

Not a fan of the new pricing - Edit
The first time I went to Plum Bistro (a year or two ago) I got a phenomenal fish dish. My most recent visit, a few weeks ago, they had another fish item on the menu, so of course I ordered it. It was tough and oily, nowhere near the flaky and rich dish that I had gotten before. When we got the bill, there was a 20% service charge that specifically said was NOT a tip. We still tipped the waiters, of course, but this means that our meal ended up costing 40% more than the menu price, which was already expensive. The portions are too small to justify the large costs, and the 20% service charge was a complete surprise. I won't be going back to Plum Bistro.
Read morePros: Nice decor/atmosphere and location, cocktails are really good, all vegan
Cons: EXPENSIVE, weird 20% service charge that isn't a built-in tip, food seems to have gotten less good over the years

BEST BURRITO EVER - Edit
My friend and I shared the bacon & chkn baked pasta, the macho burrito, and the lemon shortbread cookie! Everything was AMAZING! The pasta was given to us cold, but the flavours were very delicious and all tied together really well. The burrito was seriously one of the best burritos I’ve ever had. They prepared it right in front of us. The combination of chorizo sausage, tofu scramble, and veggies all heated and mixed together and put into a heated tortilla wrap with fresh avocado was seriously to die for. I will certainly be returning to Seattle strictly for this burrito. The shortbread cookie was soft and so flavourful!! Thanks so much Plum Bistro for your amazing service, you were so helpful and prepared such amazing food for us.

Questionable business practice - Edit
The check includes a 20% service charge that "is retained by the restaurant". If they are using the service charge to cover costs, then it should be included in the price on the menu. This is a sneaky way to operate.

A wonderful brunch or date spot. The bill can really add up but the food is amazing and service is great. The Mac n Yeaze is maybe the best vegan Mac I’ve had.

Great service. Nice presentation. Food tasted good but it was quite oily. Got their mac&cheese appy, gnocchi, and burger. Next time I will try other dishes and hope it's not as oily.

Everything on the menu is vegan and it all looked good. Eaten here twice, both times were excellent. I had the chickn and waffles and my wife had the plum slam. Highly recommend both!

Good but too oily, anyone? - Edit
The food is creative and beautiful with enticing options. I would go back again and again to try all of the items. They taste amazing, however, the hours after eating are horrible for me... I still have acid reflux now as I am writing this review a day later. And for my Vietnamese palate, who grew up with mostly homecooked meals, these are too oily.
Read moreDishes I’ve tasted (don’t remember the names exactly...):
- Mama African Salad (ironically this caused me the worst acid reflux, a salad!!!)

Good brunch - Edit
We had Saturday brunch at plum bistro. It was crowded but we got a seat after a few minutes waiting time. It's located in a hip neighborhood. We had scrambled tofu, mac and cheeze by the side a and sandwich. All the food tasted good. Unfortunately it's a bit overpriced.

Really tasty food! Mac and Yease is amazing and pizza’s flavorful and filling (not a fan of the cheese though). The mock meat on the kebabs is beyond sausage with added smoky flavor. Aesthetically pleasing environment and friendly staff.

My friends have been telling me about this place for years and I finally was able to go and let me tell you it lived up to its expectations. The food is amazing and the restaurant itself is also a very nice place to have a meal with friends and family. Everything is vegan and they also have a lot of gluten free options 🥰

Lots of options, no compromises. - Edit
We arrived tired, hungry and wet but the server was great, the food was better.
Read moreThe burger with cheese was enormous. The burger part was homemade and very good. Fries were crunchy with a sour cream dipping sauce.
The seitan and potatoes was comfort food on a rainy night.
The shrimp scampi was traditional but with a twist.

Amazing but inaccessible - Edit
Came here with my very picky omnivore parents and they loved the food. My picky dad had the pesto grilled cheese and had no idea it was vegan. I had a flatbread pizza and loved it. I wanted to try the famous Mac n yease, but it is $12 for a ramekin size portion! It will have to wait for a special occasion. Unfortunately, the chairs are not very comfortable for people with larger bodies. Speaking of which, the bathroom is down a very long steep set of stairs, so my dad with a torn ACL was not happy. Also they close in between lunch and dinner so be mindful of that when planning your trip here.

Disappointment - Edit
I have visited Plum Pantry, the Plum Food-truck and now Plum Bistro.
Read moreAll these locations suffer from the same "just throw more oil on it!" problem, but the other locations at least tried to season their food beyond oil and salt.
I went with two friends that wanted to try this location. One of which is a huge fan of Plum locations (especially the Pantry) and we all left disappointed with the quality and the prices. (nearly $80 for 3 small portions!)
If you really want to try Plum food, go to Plum Pantry, they make an actual attempt.
Pros: server was nice, plenty of water to wash down that salt
Cons: pricey, bland, overcooked

My go to for special occasions - Edit
It’s an expensive place that, in my opinion, is reserved for special occasions. But if you do go there, the food is amazing. The flavors and the creativity that goes into each dish can blow the whole “vegan food isn’t as good as meat” argument out of the water.

What a let down - Edit
I don’t ever recall being so disappointed by a restaurant. Maybe they were having an off night in the kitchen but all of the food we ordered was very underwhelming. Everything was soggy and waterlogged and flavourless.
Read moreThe service was fairly poor, with no check in to ask about the food. At the price point it hurt to pay for food that I know even I could prepare much better. I am honestly surprised to see so many recommendations for this place, and by city ambassadors no less.
Again, it’s possible we went on an off day (2019-03-22), but I certainly would not go back. $30 would have been too much, but our meal cost nearly $75 per person.
Pros: Filling, Good quality ingredients , Staff paid well
Cons: Waterlogged food, Quite flavourless, Mediocre service
