food was sooo good - Edit
Loved this place, put our names down and the wait was about an hour which wasn’t bad at all. Would definitely recommend!

Good location, great atmosphere - Edit
I visited Plum Bistro with two friends (neither veggie/vegan) on a busy Saturday evening. We hadn't booked so had to wait about an hour and a half. Lesson learned: make a reservation.
Read moreI loved the atmosphere and ambience. The menu was plentiful and I found it hard to choose. We decided to order a mixture of dishes and share. Our waitress was very nice and helpful and was happy for us to order in stages, which was good as we couldn't have fitted all the dishes onto the table. I also enjoyed looking forward to the next dish.
We ordered the beet and yam chips with dipping sauces (my favourite!), the Mac N Yease (good but too spicy for my taste), the Tempeh/Greens/Quinoa/Peach Salad (I'm not a big fan of Tempeh so wouldn't order again) and a pesto flatbread (nice although a bit on the sweet side).
I will probably visit again but want to try a few other places first.

So many things on the menu were super appealing (and my side looks on other people's plates confirmed! ). I went for the grilled tempeh with parsnip puree, greens and gravy, and it was SO good! need to return while I'm here

Not Worth It - Edit
I didn't have a great experience at Plum Bistro. To start with, we arrived at a handover point between two waiters who tried to seat us, however, there was some confusion when one told us to wait at the bar and the other told us to wait outside. When we sat at the bar, we were IDed even though we weren't drinking and didn't even want to be sat at the bar. I don't look over 21 so I wouldn't have sat there if I had a choice. Anyway, the food took over an hour to come, which was annoying because Seattle parking is super expensive. I ordered mushroom scallops and a cashew tart. The mushrooms and tart made up around 20% of the dish and the rest was a salad with what tasted like three ingredients- arugula (or some other skinny leaf), grated apple and a vinegar dressing. It wasn't very adventurous and didn't taste nice. I understand posh food but this was simply boring and not worth the $24 asking price. If you visit, make a reservation and don't order the mushroom scallop thing.

Pricey and poor service - Edit
We thought we'd treat ourselves to this place, as it was relatively expensive but had good reviews. It was such a disappointment! Having arrived a good half hour before last orders, we had outrageously poor service - the rude wait staff rushed us through the meal and even started the end-of-the-night clean up before we'd had our meal served (stacking chairs and everything!). The food was average quality - fairly uninspiring vegan food with not much flavour. It represented very poor value overall, but it was the bad service that made the experience completely disappointing. Maybe it would have been different earlier in the day...

Wonderful Southern Breakfast - Edit
We came here for brunch, and I think we all ordered the Southern Slam. Biscuits and gravy were amazing. Service was very slow, so don't go here if you are in any kind of hurry. Our server was very nice, but it took a long time just to get our mimosas, and much longer to get our food.

The best! - Edit
I am from NYC and was visiting Seattle for a few days. I saw that this place had amazing reviews and I knew I had to check it out. I had the tempeh vermouth and it is simply one of the best things I've ever eaten. I had the coconut cheesecake for dessert and I was basically licking the plate. The ambience is very cute and chic as well, and service was fast and friendly. I've been to countless vegan restaurants and this is definitely in my top few. I am going to go again when I am in Seattle! I am super jealous of the people who live close to this amazing gem.

Decent food but way overpriced. Crappy service. - Edit
Just had dinner here with my partner. We got the mac n cheese, sautéed maitake, the portobello burger, and the almond peach galette for dessert. Food was decent for the most part, although I didn't find the "famous" mac n cheese all that impressive. Dessert was a huge letdown. It was too thin, almost crustless, and looked nothing remotely like a galette. The execution was downright sloppy. Even the ice cream on top was bad; it was icy and crunchy. If you came to me with this thing, I wouldn't even know what to call it, let alone pay $14 for it.
Read morePrices were way too high. We didn't even order drinks and paid $76 for our meal. That $14 lousy dessert aside, the two apps were $12–14 each. The burger at $18 suddenly seemed like a great deal. Oh, they also put a mandatory 20% service charge on all bills. This together with the 10% sales tax mean everything you see on the menu actually costs 30% more, which is absolutely ridiculous!
Had the service been excellent, I wouldn't have minded the 20% charge all that much. But our waiter was cold and brusque. It was like pulling teeth to get a word out of her. I asked what one dish was like, she basically read out the written description matter-of-factly as if I couldn't read. From what I saw, the other waiter seemed much friendlier, more talkative and personal, so YMMV on this.
All in all, food was pretty good but prices were overblown at the outset even before the 30% surcharge. Service left much to be desired. Cheaper and better eats abound in this city. Don't waste your time and money here.
Cons: way overpriced, subpar service

perfect nice vegan dinner - Edit
The photos don't do this restaurant justice. It's really nice, moderately expensive, elegant but still hip and casual enough. You could wear pretty much anything and fit right in. Really gorgeous and awesome dining area in an apparent refurbished warehouse all wooden with totally open storefront . And... the food is very very excellent foodie level food! This has to be the nicest restaurant in town! (?)

amazing food and lovely atmosphere! - Edit
My husband and I absolutely loved this restaurant! We had the sautéed maitake mushrooms and Mac 'n' yease for apps - which were both outstanding! He had the Cuban black beauty and I ordered the grilled pesto tofu with purple potatoes. The server mistakenly brought the tempeh vermouth, so we did not want to waste and took that entree. It turned out to be the favorite dish of the night :)

My fave Vegan restaurant in Seattle - Edit
I love Plum Bistro! It is my go to recommendation for any fellow vegan new to town or just visiting. They have delicious food, and best of all they do brunch on both Saturday and Sunday! I always have such a hard time deciding what I want becasue everything is delicious. However, my favorite brunch item is the bottomless cup of Stumptown coffee and the Southern Slam; panko crusted seitan, biscuits and gravy, grits and collard greens. (seriously drooling thinking about it.) The happy hour is also great, if you can find a seat in the bar. It's a great time to go if you're indecisive, the portions are smaller so you can have a little bit of everything.

Amazing vegan spot! - Edit
I loved Plum Bistro! I had bought a Groupon for the restaurant a very long time ago and never used it, so it expired. So I decided to just go solo and use what the value of it was (25$) because it was enough for one person. I ordered an Orcas Island Iced Chai tea, the chipotle avocado sandwich, and the rosemary fries with dill aioli. OH MY GOSH it was ALL so incredibly good! Like others have said, there's so much to choose from so I just picked something off the menu and was extremely pleased. Although I loved everything, I have to say my favorite parts of the meal were the dill aioli and the chai tea! They also serve you water with orange and cucumber in it which was a pleasant combination that I've shamelessly been drinking ever since my visit. Depending on what you order it can be pricey. With a drink order, entree, and appetizer and it put me right at 25$.

Small, Loud, Busy, & Totally Worth It - Edit
I'm not a fan of loud & crowded places to eat, so was a little apprehensive when friends took me to Plum on a Saturday evening & I saw that the small space was heaving with people.
Read moreWe were told that only large parties should book tables, so it was disconcerting to arrive & be told we had an hour's wait. If my hosts hadn't eaten there before & been so enthusiastic, I would have left & gone elsewhere, probably never to return. Luckily, they convinced me that it was worth the wait. They were right.
Though a little cramped & rather noisy, the atmosphere was friendly & relaxed. The menu was overwhelming - making a choice from such a wide selection of dishes was nearly impossible. It was a case of just picking something & turning the menu over to prevent further shilly-shallying.
The food came surprisingly quickly & was superb. All our dishes were beautifully presented & incredibly tasty. Who knew that the good old veggie lasagne could taste so heavenly?
This isn't a disability-friendly place, which is a shame. The loo is outside the restaurant on a shared area of the building down a steep flight of steps & requires a passcode.
Takeaway is available.
Pros: Gorgeous food, Friendly, helpful staff, Takeaway is available
Cons: Not wheelchair/disability friendly, Lack of reservations means long waits
