My favorite thing here is probably the Sweet Sour Lion's Mane 🤩 would 100% recommend also some other great dishes here are the Deep fried sweetcorn fritter, the Laksa, Satay Tofu, and the fried noodles 🫶

We had really tasty dishes and did not have to wait long for the food to arrive. The only negative thing was the location, it seemed a bit overcrowded (which is a good sign anyways). Definitely recommend!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had - Edit
I came here for dinner on the weekend with my partner and a friend and the food, the service and the atmosphere were all incredible! We had a bit of a wait to get in as we wanted to sit inside and didn’t have a reservation but it was 100% worth it! I had the fried mushrooms and the Laksa and the Laksa was one of the best meals I have ever eaten! The service was also superb with regular top ups of water and kind, friendly, helpful staff who were wonderful even though clearly they are very busy during the Fringe! I will absolutely be back and recommending Soul Vegan to everyone I know.

Got the wonton soup noodle and noodle with char sui. Very happy with both. Didn’t eek out similar dishes at some of our other favorite vegan restaurants back home, but still really nice food!

Fantastic Food & Fantastic Staff - Edit
We went here on a busy evening during the Edinburgh Fringe & despite not having a reservation, the staff were very accommodating & found us a table. The food is all freshly prepared so given how busy they were, we did wait a while but it was worth it. We loved it so much we went the following evening between shows & again, the staff were very helpful when we said we were short of time, suggesting dishes that were the quickest to prepare.

This place is great. Undoubtedly one of the best vegan restaurants I’ve been to. The service was great and the Gan lau mee with char Sui and Wonton was amazing.
Read moreHowever, the Laksa and Tofu satay weren’t brilliant. The satay sauce was great but the tofu itself wasn’t particularly well cooked. I would prefer something a bit crispier. The laksa was a mix of fake meat, noodles and crispy gyoza (I think), but there was a distinct lack of vegetables, and the noodles were quite tasteless.
Don’t get me wrong, this place is still amazing, but I really think it depends on the dish you order. I think details of the food on the menu would help with picking the right choice.

Très belle découverte, accueil charmant, très souriant, service rapide 😁 La cuisine malaisienne est très parfumée et très savoureuse. Nous avons adoré les chips sel et poivre, ils étaient imbibés d’une sauce vinaigrée sucrée étonnante et vraiment très bonne. 😋 Nous validons la spécialité de la maison, le deep fried tofu. Le Green curry tofu était aussi très bon, mais un peu trop épicé 🥵 On y retournera, c’était vraiment très bon.

The menu looks simple but I soon found myself in a crisis: I wanted almost everything on it! The food tastes as it sounds and all the reviews say. Friendly efficient service. Don't hesitate, just come here.
Read moreLaksa: I think a house specialty, delicious with rich yellow curry, mixed fake meat and tofu, veggies, and noodles. Incredible. Monk's vegetables: great mixed veggies, ginger, and tofu. Simpler taste. Tom Yam soup: excellent! Fried mushrooms: delicious, definitely fried so not a light dish.
Hoping I can make it back a 3rd and 4th time in order try all the dishes on my wanted list.

Wow. What amazing food. Everything was so tasty. I can’t wait to come back here next time I visit Edinburgh. I had the laksa noodles which were so tasty. Very small busy restaurant, definitely recommend booking a table. Lovely attentive staff also.

Fan Lau Mee - a noodles come with delicious seitan pieces, on a kind of sweet and sour sauce.
Souls Special deep fried tofu- I’ve never tasted a tofu like that. Comes with broccoli and rice
Sweet corn soup - very good, I would add a bit more salt.

My new favourite Edinburgh restaurant 🥹 - Edit
The food was INSANELY good!!! I was honestly blown away and will definitely come back over and over again. Located dangerously close to where I spend a lot of my time so I guess I’ll become a regular. Staff was great too atmosphere is lovely! Only point of improvement for me personally I would say is that I didn’t know all of the dishes by name and there’s no description of what’s in them on the menu. A short description and/or a photo would be great so I know what I am ordering😄(maybe everything just tastes so good though that it doesn’t matter what you order)
