Supermarket chain with 3 other locations. This location has another one right up the street closer to the park but it's not filled with as many vegan options. Carries a large variety of vegan products, including vegan milks (soy, hemp, almond, rice, oat, chocolate hazelnut), snacks such as crackers (ninfas) or chocolates (70% cacao with coconut or pink salt or coffee) and many more. Open Mon-Sun 7:00am-9:00pm.

Nicht schön - Edit
Auswahl nicht sehr gut und nicht schön. Geht lieber in das vegane Restaurant neben an, daher kann man auch gute Sachen kaufen

Decent - Edit
Not much selection of produce. Shelf stuff was very expensive. Glad to find some options while I am here, but the price is like a convenience store

It was fine - Edit
There were plant milks but I was expecting more. The store isn’t very big, and it seemed like it was more of a liquor store lol. The regular grocery store that is on the same street? had more options on certain things like vegan cheese, so I recommend going there after! There wasn’t vegan cheese, mayo, or meat substitutes here when I came. They did have kettle chips, natural jam, and ice cream though!

Pretty good - Edit
We found soy milk here, as well as Costa Rican vegan ice cream and kombucha. What we didn’t find: produce! We were hoping for local produce, and their selection was quite small. Also bummed by no peanut butter without added oils and sugar (they had Jif. Bleh.)

So so expensive - Edit
I think costa rica has one of the most expensive supermarkets worldwide, and the quality is not even worth it, beer apart. I tried the vegan ice-cream, nothing special. It can be improved tho; something like $7 for the "big" cup. Just crazy. Almost all the rest is imported and insanely expensive.

Good for specific diet/ health needs - Edit
Good spot for someone with gluten issues like celiacs to get special items, but otherwise stick to the regular supermercato and farmers market

Nothing special - Edit
I honestly didn’t see very many differences in this market compared to other markets here. There was not a section of vegan items. There was a small cooler of 1 brand of vegan ice cream that was good. But it was cheaper to just freeze some bananas and make nice cream with the blender at out Airbnb. There was a large area for gluten free items which wasn’t helpful for vegans. We did find some accidentally vegan, gluten free chocolate chip cookies and they were like cardboard. We did come in October which is the slow season so maybe they only have items when it’s tourist season?

Not many vegan options - Edit
Not much of a vegan selection, you can find many more vegan items in other local supermarkets such as BM supermercado. The kombuchas I bought were a bit off, didn’t taste right.

Ouvert mais souffre de la crise... - Edit

Amazing vegan options! - Edit
Best place in the area for organic produce.
Read moreAlso offers some vegan cheeses, ice cream and fake meat.
Just a little tip: if you’re looking for a non dairy milk, look for it in the front of the store! Saved us 3000 colones opposed to the ones sold in the ‘organic’-section.
