Yuba heaven - Edit
In the Nishijin textile district , Yuba Seike restaurant offers a choice of three set meals ($45, $60, & $72 approximately). We opted for the $60 lunch and, seated in a private dining room overlooking a garden, enjoyed a leisurely 10-course meal: soup, yuba “sashimi “, yuba hotpot, yuba “steak ,” stuffed tofu with seasonal veggies, pudding , tea, rice, etc .
Read moreThe website is easy to use for the reservation system and for inquiries. The vegetarian set menus do include some dairy (butter in the yuba “steak” preparation; cream in the dessert pudding) , so vegans and vegetarians should be sure to specify what they will or will not eat. (We opted for the dairy). The location is also easy to find, a half block from the imadegawa-omiya bus stop, and not far from a subway station —and the Raku museum .
Pros: Delicious fresh yuba and tofu, Tranquil setting , Friendly service
