Best service in Penang! 🌱 - Edit
This is the only eatery I’ve dined in twice on this trip, and that’s because of the excellent food quality and the helpful staff!! I asked for a spicier sauce for the satay and they happily gave me some. Perfect place for someone who wants both authenticity AND wonderfully rich tastes. Maybe I’ll order a third time 🐷

Delicious nasi lemak - Edit
We visited here twice and got some variation of nasi lemak both times. The first time we both got rendang nasi lemak. The rendang was delicious, it had a good strong flavour and there was lots of tempeh, lion's mane mushrooms and (I think) some tofu. The accompaniments on the plate were good additions, with some good textures coming from the cashews and pickles, and some good flavour from the sambal. The rice was well cooked and more meals should be served with poppadoms.
Read moreOn our next visit I got the kurma curry nasi lemak. The curry sauce was tasty with a bit of chilli kick but nothing too spicy. There was plenty of tempeh and bits of mushrooms in the sauce. My partner got the satay nasi lemak. The satay skewer was made from lion's mane mushrooms so had a great texture. It was good and nutty but didn't pack the same exciting flavours as the rendang.
We both had ice milk teas and enjoyed them, they were quite sweet and exactly what we were looking for. On the second visit I got a chocolate, banana and peanut shake and all of those flavours were very obviously there making for a delicious drink.

Fantastic traditional taste of Malaysia - Edit
Wow, the food, setting, staff and decor were all a delight. I really enjoyed the classic nasi lemak and we also had the chee cheong fun and satay whilst my wife had the oriental pearl bowl.

Really enjoyed our food. Ordered the Nasi Lemak curry version which was incredibly tasty. Hokkien noodles were nice but not stand out. Staff friendly. Maybe slightly pricier than other places in town.

Great Malay vegan food - Edit
It’s so hard to pass Malay street food by when it’s not vegan in Penang. It all smells and looks so good. But I found this place on here and it was fantastic. So I wanted to leave positive review too for others. The Assam Laksa spicy soup was the real deal. Nice place and people too.

This is a great place to experience some local Penang food. If I recall correctly, they even use organic ingredients, at least for some of their dishes. Everything I tried was great.

Great food - Edit
We had an absolutely amazing experience at this vegetarian cafe in Penang! We ordered their signature dishes - the Penang Laksa and Hokkien Mee - and they were both so delicious and had such a rich aroma that we ended up devouring all the soup. But the real star of the show was the Onde-Onde cake we had for dessert, it was simply incredible! We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some delicious vegetarian food in Penang.

One comment stated the AC didn’t cool down enough?😄so I thought actually it’s too cold as in many places here, so I brought and needed a scarf.

Cons: AC a little to cold for me

Reflection - Edit
Pinxin Vegan Cuisine consistently ranks at the top of my list for vegan dining in Penang. I always recommend it to people visiting the area. However, during our recent visit, I noticed several changes. The restaurant seemed understaffed, and while the food was decent, the portions appeared smaller. The air conditioning didn't adequately cool the space, and the restaurant could benefit from some refurbishment as it appeared outdated. Additionally, the main door made a loud squeaking sound. Despite these issues, Pinxin Vegan Cuisine still holds a special place in my heart, and I hope it can regain its former fame and charm.

The Laksa soup was good, huge portion but the taste was "just" good and nothing special. The satay sticks were yummy though! Cozy atmosphere and super friendly staff.

Didn’t meet expectations - Edit
Perhaps it was the dish I chose but I was a little underwhelmed by this raved about venue. I ordered the “signature” asam laksa. Serving size was good and the noodles were well-cooked. The flavour was too subtle for my liking (not sour enough) and there was only a small amount of cucumber and pineapple. If I were to go back I would try something different.
