Best Brunch - Edit
I've always love brunch food, but there are no brunch offerings where I live. So when I travel, I seek out vegan brunch options and was thrilled to eat at Plum Bistro. We ordered the Chik'n and Waffles, the Plum Slam and the Burrito. Of course I had a Bloody Mary too because who can resist a vegan Bloody? Everything was delicious and wonderful!

Will Never Not Love This Spot - Edit
Tbh I'm a little starstruck with Plum's chef, who's a breath of fresh air amidst Seattle's "let's do salmon 5 more ways & not use salt" restauranteur contingency. Nothing I've ever eaten or drunk here has disappointed. The gnocchi is always to die for; Foodgasm! I wish more bartenders in Seattle got on the Aquafaba train instead of egg whites for cocktails. The menu is fill of flavorful & creative dishes you won't find anywhere else; it's a vegan's paradise for a great date night. Pro tip: get there early on a Friday!

Yummy but overhyped - Edit
My family went here to celebrate my sisters graduation, it was definitely a good vibe to fit the occasion. The food was yummy, but I would say not worth the price. We ordered the black truffle sweet potato gnocchi, the sweet and spicy cauliflower, the buffalo portobello burger, and Crispy Korean Tofu, and 4 drinks. The gnocchi was yummy, but disappointing, a little too oily, and not a very strong truffle flavor, the Korean tofu was too tangy for me, and I wasn’t a fan of the buffalo burger. My favorites were the cauliflower and the gnocchi. Our total came out to 133 not including tip. I probably wouldn’t come back here, I’d rather explore more vegan restaurants in Seattle.

Vegan upscale dining - Edit
We went for dinner on a weeknight. We had our service dog with us so we sat outdoors. They have very nice seating set up. The weather was great.
Read moreI ordered the salad and should have looked for photos first. I was wanting something fresh and light but it was weighed down by tons of vegan meat. The greens were wilted from the heat of the meat. I did not like it at all. If you get the salad ask for a bun so you can put all the vegan meat on it and make a sandwich 😉
My husband got the lettuce wraps which were soooo good. I wish I had the fried mushrooms on my salad instead of all that fake meat.
We also got the Buffalo cauliflower which was very good and was a very big portion.
Service was ok but not what I would expect from a upscale restaurant. I ordered a blackberry lemonade that was delicious and they never asked if I wanted a refill. Missed opportunity for more money which I would have paid for.
So, yeah, mixed review. I might go back and try something different.
Pros: All vegan, Nice outdoor seating, Yummy Buffalo cauliflower
Cons: Service not great

Get the plum slam! - Edit
Edit - breakfast amazing, dinner not so much
Read moreBreakfast:
Delicious food, great atmosphere
Bloody Mary - probably wouldn't get this again, it tasted like too much spice had been added (,I like spicy, that wasn't the issue, it was too dominant)
Potato and egg burrito - good portion size, lightly fried too
Plum slam - this had a little bit of everything. Delicious, probably the best tofu scramble I've ever had
Dinner:
Saw a lot of reviews about dinner being bland, and experienced the same
Lettuce wrap Oyster mushrooms - no sauce (bar a tiny cappuccino mug of bean salad), and the oyster mushrooms just tasted of batter
Chicken burger- no flavor at all
Crispy Korean tofu - not crispy, and not flavorsome

Warm modern ambiance and casually sophisticated eclectic menu - Edit
We have been here twice while visiting from out of state and really enjoyed ourselves both times. It's a beautiful space and we have enjoyed all of the food we have ordered so far. The service is excellent-- warm, smart and friendly.
Read moreThe Reuben sandwich was especially delicious. Perfect!
Mama Africa Salad was a little disappointing for technical reasons. It was heaped so high on a plate that I couldn't eat it without some of the elements spilling on to the table. This meant that I couldn't really toss the salad, which was served with each element in its own separate pile. I ended up eating all of the flavorful elements off of the top and sides and then was left with a giant pile of slightly limp oily greens. I would order it again, but would ask if it could be tossed before serving even if that means less pretty presentation.

Can’t go wrong ordering anything on their menu. Prices are high but the food is divine. Mac & Yease is beyond delicious, but a small portion. Savor every bite. The Cuban Black Beauty will rekindle your romance with tofu.

I had the Plum Slam and it was great. Tired of western diners adding dairy milk to everything when you just want a vegan breakfast at 1pm on the weekend? This is the place for you. I would go more often if I lived nearby.

Fancy place on Capitol Hill - Edit
Nice fancy place. We shared the Plum Slam from the brunch menu, dish was $20 and just enough for the 2 of us. The tofu scramble was amazing. A little on the pricier side but it is a very nice looking place.

Tasty but costly - Edit
What I ordered was great but it certainly ain’t cheap. I ordered the black pepper fried chick’n burger and Mac and yease. The portion of Mac I got was very minimal. The sandwich, however tasted great and it was a good portion. This is definitely a good place to visit when visiting Seattle.

Mixed feelings - Edit
The Mac &Yeast was unique and delicious. Chicken sandwich was exceptional. However the pizza was nothing special and the black truffle gnocchi was lacking in truffle flavor. We wonder if we hadn’t ordered the right items more to our taste.

Unreal. - Edit
I think this might be the best vegan restaurant I’ve been to yet… Seriously! The Mac and cheese was unreal. The chili was super good — just wish they wrote what kind of meat they used for it on the menu (I think it might’ve been seitan?)

Must have vegan spot - Edit
Came here for brunch. I ordered the sausage, egg and potato burrito. Definitely top three vegan breakfast burritos I’ve ever had. Breakfast burritos were the hardest thing for me to give up when I went vegan. So happy this place uses Just egg and tasty fresh ingredients. My wife got the Mac and Yeaze which was probably the best vegan mac we’ve ever had. Also split the buffalo cauliflower. Again, best vegan version of that too. Actually remove vegan from the best… they were just the best vegan or not. Definitely come here if you’re even considering it. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely Amazing - Edit
We came here twice in our 5 day trip and we’re immensely upset we didn’t make it to their brunch. Everything, literally everything on the menu is good. Pricey but worth it. Definitely get the chili and nachos. Portions are large enough that it’s worth it to get 3-4 things and split it all amongst yourselves.

Rude waiter - Edit
Food was okay, nothing exceptional. Waited over a year to see my daughter, enjoyed a glass of wine with the appetizer, order a pizza, and another glass of wine, and was asked if that’s all we wanted. We had only eaten half the pizza because we wanted to order more. When I told the waiter we had planned to order more he told me that I better hurry because he had a waitlist. We had only been there for an hour and 25 minutes… He came by and pressured us again at which point we finally gave up, asked for the bill, and left. I had been waiting to catch up, and have a nice relaxing meal with her for so long – i’ve never been rushed like that in a restaurant. And to top things off they add 5% to the bill without telling you… still not sure what it’s for, but I think it’s for the back staff. Not a fan of being nickeled and dimed.

Sounds about right. They used to tack on an extra 20% (instead of 5%) and after being rude to you all night ask for even more gratuity while being secretive about the 20% automatic gratuity. They even add it to takeout orders!

The best! - Edit
Every time I come here, the food and menu gets better and better! Last night we tried the Double Cheesy Meatball Bake and the Southern Comfort Fried Chick’n - wow!! Both sooo good. I loved everything on my plate - the mashed potatoes, greens, corn and chick’n, which was crispy and so yummy with the gravy. Absolutely recommend both dishes and of course you can’t go wrong with getting the tried and true favorite - Mac and Yease! For dessert we also tried the New Orleans inspired bread pudding a la mode - also wow, incredibly delicious, probably the best vegan dessert I’ve ever had.

Completely tasteless - Edit
I am floored by the good reviews of this place. I had the burrito and my boyfriend got the pizza, and both were incredibly bland. I hate throwing out food so I tried to finish mine, but had completely lost interest after about 3 bites. We were both amazed at how tasteless everything was.
Read moreI have no idea if vegan food is somehow still (in 2021!) a novelty in Seattle and that's the reason for great reviews of awful food, but I honestly don't think this place would survive in any other major city. I wish Happy Cow would stop forcing a second star onto fully vegetarian & vegan restaurants because there's no way I would have given it even this high a rating.

Phenomenal Plant-based Cuisine - Edit
Honestly we loved everything we ordered! We have been here twice and really loved the mushroom calamari, tofu scallopini, sweet potato gnocchi, lemon ricotta ravioli, Crispy Korean Tofu. Everything was phenomenal!! Very flavorful and absolutely delicious. They are very high quality and scrumptious dishes. Every bite is pure bliss. Great spot for a date, and once we had it for takeaway and it was still exceptionally good! Oh and those cocktails! My favorite was Silly Summers at the Lake, but I also loved A Drunken Spa Day.
