incredible plant based was in Tucson - Edit
HC led me here, my taste buds will bring me back. I tried the chorizo empanadas and they were incredible. My dinner guest had the cactus tacos and we traded one for one and they were prepared perfectly. Glad to have another go to option while visiting AMARG

Great! - Edit
I took my non-vegan family here and they all loved it (which is really saying something because last time we went to a vegan place they wouldn’t try anything but the salad)! The restaurant was very accommodating and let us bring a cake for my birthday. I’ve heard very good things about Tumerico and was not disappointed at all!

Very solid Mexican - Edit
Came here for lunch today. Very solid. Not the best I’ve had but well worth the trip. Cuban Tacos were the highlight though I liked the Mesquite Pancakes too. Interesting menu options. Flavours just weren’t quite Zesty enough, given the price, to warrant that fifth cow. Portions are large though

Neighborhood Gem - Edit
I’ve dined at Tumerico frequently. The food and service is consistently good. Wendy, the owner, is a kind, thoughtful, and generous host. The menu items are creative and broad. I particularly enjoy the cafe’s tacos and really appreciate the soup and coffee that comes with the meal. What would I like to see improved? The beans and rice. Unfortunately, those two items always fall a bit short on flavor. Seasoning those two staples would really complete the experience. Great location in the Sam Hughes neighborhood and the restaurant attract a really fun clientele.
Read morePros: Excellent menu choices. Very creative cuisine, Excellent staff. Attentive and kind, Great location. Clean and bright.
Cons: Can be a pricey experience: $14-18/plate, Under seasoned rice and beans

Best vegan food in Tucson! - Edit
We loved the Mexican influenced food at Turmerico. I ordered the Azteca tacos, which included huitlacoche (corn mushroom) and other veggies. My husband had the Tacos Al Pastor, which was made with jackfruit, chipotle and pineapple. It was so good I will try to cook it myself! The plates came with Peruana beans, green salad and rice. When I asked for no rice they offered me double salad - how great! We also liked their fresh horchata and kombucha on tap.

Probably my favorite restaurant - Edit
Tumerico is probably my favorite restaurant and I don’t even live in Tucson. Every time we come through town we go twice. Super tasty sauces. Always comes with soup and a delicious little side salad on the plate. The menu changes daily so there’s always something different to try! Everything seems to be vegan but you have the option of adding eggs or cheese.

Ridiculously Yummy!!! - Edit
To call the food ridiculously delicious would be a serious understatement! It was so good I seriously contemplated moving from Denver just so I could eat there all the time.
Read moreOn top of that, I was greeted warmly as soon as I entered and the menu was explained to me. Everything is made from scratch and boy can you tell! The quality of the food is top notch and everything was incredibly flavorful.
On top of that, there are fantastic little touches like free coffee and everyone who was working was so friendly and smiled non-stop. Makes for a great atmosphere.
I can't recommend this place enough. Their mole was out of this world.

The best Mexican food we’ve ever had - Edit
Wow- this place completely blew us away! We have not had Mexican food this good EVER! The menu changes daily, but we ordered the Cuban tacos (at the recommendation of the server) and they were packed with flavor- absolutely fantastic. We also tried the carne Asada plate, which was HUGE and came with 3 different kind of meats- each super delicious. We can’t wait to come back again- maybe our new fav restaurant! Everything on the menu was vegan except for 1 tamale (had cheese). It was also packed with a line out the door- so you know it’s good!

Great food - Edit
I don't live in Tucson so was a little concerned about eating vegan here. I'm so glad I found this place (via Happy Cow). The Cuban-style tacos I got were deliciously different. It was so flavorful and filling. Their black beans were awesome as well and not overly salty as so many are. I will come back her for sure next time I'm in Tucson.

Best in Tucson - Edit
Tumerico is one of the best vegetarian (mostly vegan) eateries in Tucson, their dishes are bursting with flavor and fresh ingredients. My husband and I eat here as often as possible, their taco recipes are amazing! Dishes are served with soup of the day, generous sized portions and sides that fill your entire plate. The menu changes daily and everything is made fresh. Most items are vegan but they also serve some dairy so just be sure to ask when ordering, they’re very accommodating and will make anything vegan. Tumerico is a popular spot to eat in Tucson, lunchtime is usually pretty busy but so worth it! The service is awesome too, say hi to Daniel and the amazing chef Wendy.

I haven’t had a bad thing here- ever! I love the flavors and textures and everyone working there is so nice and helpful. I recommend the cuban tacos or the carna asada plate- every meat eater I’ve taken also lives this place! Anyone coming thru Tucson needs Tumerico in their life.

I love the diverse vegan options. I hadn't eaten a GLAZED donut since I became vegan and they had them and it was de-li-ci-ous. Everything I've eaten there is tasty. This is my second visit, I live in Nogales. I shall return. Next time I'm having the VEGAN Sonoran hot dog. Yes!

Best of Tucson - Edit
This place is fantastic. The food is consistently amazing, and I like that the menu changes often. It's on a chalk board when you come in, and rest assured that everything on it is fresh and delicious. The carne asada plate, al pastor tacos (spicy!), and red chile enchiladas are a few of my favorites. They also serve you complimentary soup before your main meal arrives...I don't usually finish it, because I'm saving room for the main event! Whether you live in Tucson or are visiting, this place is a must visit.

Fantastic! - Edit
This place is fantastic! It is more Latin American cuisine with Mexican influences but VERY delicious nonetheless. The first time we went they had a Cuban sandwich with plantain bacon. It was soo good. The second time tamales with mole which were also amazing. I love that thy serve a very balanced dish. My boyfriend and I have two girls and they have a little section where kids can play which is so helpful. We can actually enjoy the delicious food instead of having to keep our kids entertained once they’re done eating. They can quietly play in the corner. Will come back as often as we can.

I discovered Tumerico in my travels and wow, was it great! The menu changes twice daily, is completely gluten free, and only non-vegan by request. Now that’s a change! The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff was friendly and very informative. It’s my new Tucson fave.

Delicioso and friendly! - Edit
Great food. Super nice people working there. The ambiance is a little rough, but that’s ok for Mexican food. My only concern is that they offered us eggs and dairy cheese. We went there because we thought they were all-Vegan, as they advertise themselves to be. We found it sad that they think they have to compromise their ethics like that. They were packed, by the way, and I didn’t see anyone eating eggs. I hope they go back to being 100% Vegan soon, for the animals sake especially. 😊🐄🐔❤️

Wonderful experience that was not only delicousl and nourishing – but it converted one skeptic about vegetarian Mexican food into a believer. The complexities of taste and colour were beautifully presented on our plates. Bravo Tumerico, well done!

Very good food and very welcoming - Edit
Great experience. I was warmly greeted (in Spanish at first, so bilingual) by multiple members of the staff and explained the menu. You get a free bowl of soup and free cup of coffee with your meal. I ordered the Korean Fajitas which were very good. Onion, carrots, potato, zucchini, tofu, tamari-pesto, bell peppers, tortillas, rice, beans, and salad. Menu is all vegan but they do offer cheese and eggs. Everything except the burrito is gluten-free. Great vibe to this place and I will definitely stop again when I'm in the area.
