French style restaurant and creperie in the West Village since 2016. Dishes may include vegan steak truffle frites, coq au vin, poulet Basquaise, and crepes, both sweet and savory (galettes). Makes plant-based cheeses in-house. Small and intimate. Relocated from 20 Christopher St. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-10:30pm. Bakery opens from 8am to 9pm.

GO HERE - Edit
This restaurant is exactly what you pray it is - amazing French vegan food. Honestly, it was so hard to pick what to get. The waiter suggested Escargot and Coq Au Vin. Of course, he said he could only one favorite. It has been so long since I had proper French food. I could have cried. Come here!! 🥹❤️

Very good but not great - Edit
The beef bourguignon was fabulous but the galettes were just ok (we split the sausage and cheese one). The sweet crepes were very good but could use more filling (the caramel apple one).

Delicious food with attentive services - Edit
Great delicious food and attentive services. Best plant-based dining experiences among the four restaurants in NYC so far.
Read moreThe other three were okay and would only recommend this one.
Nice ambiance but it's too crowded. If you don't mind the cramped dining area, this is a must. I recommended!

Almost Perfect - Edit
Service could be a little better. Flavors were incredible but textures were not good. I had the beef bourguignon and my mom had the scallops. I’ve had and made vegan versions of this before and the textures here were a massive letdown. The crepes and escargot were spot on though.

Last time was better? - Edit
We visited Delice & Sarrasin for the second time last night and were underwhelmed. Our first visit was at their old location where we had the Escargot, cheese board, Coq au Vin, and Tagliatelle. It was incredible! It was so nice last time that I feel a bit disappointed this time around.
Read moreWe wanted to try new parts of the menu on our second visit and selected the baked Brie appetizer and entrees of Tournedos Rossini (steak with truffle) and Coquilles St Jacques (scallops) with the La Bordelaise crepe for dessert. The appetizer and dessert were great.
Both of the entrees left us underwhelmed. The steak looked and tasted like an impossible/beyond burger, which didn't taste much like a tender "steak". The foie gras, black truffle, asparagus, and sauce were very nice but didn't make up for the burger. The scallops were a mixed experience. While I liked the scallops themselves, my partner couldn't stomach them.
While we had such a tasty experience last time, this time around was a bit disappointing. Will probably go again to try other parts of the menu.

Elegant French Dining - Edit
This was our second visit to this restaurant, this visit in their new location. Unlike their first location, this one is roomier and has an elegant atmosphere.
Read moreWe had their cheese board which was delicious. The Brie cheese was our favorite. It was hard to believe that the cheeses were vegan. The bread it came with was a perfect compliment to the cheese. We also shared the tomato and burrata plate. The tomatoes were not quite ripe enough and the burrata was misleading as it was thin slices of “cheese” and not a soft ball of “cheese”.
We shared the coq au vin and the mr seguin savory crepe. The chicken in the coq au vin is made out of a pea protein. It had a soft texture but I did not enjoy it. The dish overall was way too salty. The goat cheese and chicken crepe was delicious.
For dessert we had a pear, almond, and dark chocolate crepe. It was good but lacked a little sweetness. We had coffee with dessert, but it was bitter.
Pros: Elegant atmosphere , Good homemade cheeses
Cons: Too salty

Disappointing. Definitely not French cuisine. - Edit
After looking forward to visiting Delice & Sarrasin during our NYC trip, we were left disappointed and unsure the chef knows what French cuisine is or how it should taste.
Read moreTo start, when we arrived the maitre d was polite and promptly showed us to our table. Given the restaurant is going for a higher class level, I was instantly disappointed we didn't have our coats taken (rainy day so we had rain jackets) and had to sit them on the floor next to our table. Brushing this off we sat down and enjoyed the look of the restaurant and busy atmosphere within. After about five minutes a waiter came to ask what water we would like and went straight into requesting our food order. Having barely sat, we were prepared to be served water and be asked about drinks, we certainly weren't expecting to order food so promptly. Thankfully we knew what starters we wanted so requested those and asked she come back for mains. Looking unimpressed the waiter left, returning soon after for our mains. Feeling rushed, we placed an order.
We ordered the foie gras, baked brie, coq au vin and beef bourguignon with a glass of wine each.
The starters were served promptly. The brie was delicious, though the potatoes they were served with were dry and unpleasant. The foie gras was not enjoyable at all. It was fatty with no flavour and a poor texture and only served with 2 bots of bread despite the large serving.
Less than ten minutes after pur playes were cleared, the main was served. Giving little time to settle from the starters or enjoy our wine. Simply put, the mains were both lack lustre and not up to any standard of French cooking. The beef was cold and both of our vegetables were undercooked - the potatoes weren't at all edible in a dish that should melt in your mouth - and the stews liquid so runny it could have been soup. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that they steam the vegetables and heat the protein individually before adding them to a dish with liquid added on top. The liquid in both dishes could be described as chicken and beef stock with herbs. They definitely did not have the depth, thickness or flavour of coq au vin or beef bourguignon.
After finishing as much of our meals as we could we were asked if we wanted dessert - couldn't risk it for the price - and promptly received the bill. The total experience taking 40mins without the offer of another wine.
The whole experience was rushed, disappointing and not worth it.
Pros: Nice location , Nice looking restaurant , Tasty wine and brie
Cons: Felt rushed into ordering, eating and leaving , Definitely does not live up to French cuisine, Too expensive for what it is
ConsciousEntrepreneur
I also had the same horrible service experience, I went for Christmas eve and wow… I felt like crying after being rushed, the waiters constantly lurking, I was dining alone so I this confirmed the bad service was not personal because certainly I took it personally. Balthazar is not Vegan but I went immediately after for drinks, to wash out that horrible dining experience.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! - Edit
Run, don't walk to Delice & Sarrasin. We were so impressed with this restaurant we went back the next night. The roasted Brie was so delicious and my husband has requested I get the blue cheese shipped to us for his birthday and Christmas presents. Their cheese is out of this world. Their "duck" in mustard sauce was so good, my dad ordered it the first night and my husband had to have it the next night. Their crepes (both sweet and savory) are exceptional. My Coq Au Vin was perfection. I wish I could go back to NY just to have a meal at Delice & Sarrasin. The food is amazing, the ambiance is lovely and the owners are delightful.

Vegan classic French cuisine - Edit
Lots of options like Foie gras, vegan veal, beef bourguignon. I had the impossible steak which was tasty but would not necessarily recommend it since it was just a impossible burger patty with their foie gras for $30

Delice & Sarrasin - Edit
WOW! If you are looking for incredible vegan French food and amazing owners, look no further. And if you are bringing non-veg people, prepare for them to be amazed!
Read moreI ate at Delice & Sarrasin twice the 1.5 weeks I was in NYC this month and was blown away each time. Both times I brought non-vegans and every single person was shocked, in love, and dying to eat at Delice & Sarrasin again. I know this because they told me and they keep talking about it. 😀
My favorites were :
* SOUPE A L'OIGNON GRATINEE
* BRIE ROTI ET FONDANT VEGETAL
* PLATEAU DE FROMAGE
* TOURNEDOS ROSSINI
* COQ AU VIN
* ORANGE CREME BRULEE
I personally didn't enjoy the "BŒUF BOURGUIGNON" as much because of the texture of the fake beef, but it's much better as the chicken version "COQ AU VIN".
The owners are super sweet and kind people. Cute new location and atmosphere. I cannot wait to go back when I visit NYC next.

Excellent French cuisine - Edit
We ordered several items and our favorites were the Coq au Vin, Verrine de Saumon Avocat & Boursin, Escargot, and Crabe pane au Choux de Bruxelles. It was my first authentic French experience and I was very impressed with the complex flavors and innovative creations. Great spot for date night, it's quiet and romantic.

Worth trying, but won't be back - Edit
We had the merlot-cabernet, watermelon infused water, escargot, ratatouille, truffle fries, and pear/almond crepe. The wine and water were delicious and it was great having vegan wine options that paired well with everything. The ratatouille melted in your mouth, but wasn't much better than the few times I have made it myself. You could taste the truffle in the fries, but they were way too oily. The crepe was very good, but nothing special other than being one of the few vegan crepes out there. The shining star was the escargot. We have never tried real escargot and never had the desire to, but this being mushroom base with lots of garlic was incredible.
Read moreThe majority of the menu was not appealing to us because it mimicked french food we never found appetizing (ex. foie gras). If you loved french food before going vegan, I'd imagine this would be a much better selection. If, like us, you never found French food intriguing, but want to try something different, it's worth the experience.
I removed one star because the restaurant is a very, very tight squeeze and we did not find the ambiance/experience to be as romantic as many described. The lighting was dimmed nicely, but other than that I do not get the rave reviews myself. The decor was limited and mostly irrelevant to French cuisine or fine dining. Possibly because it was crowded, it was extremely hot and we saw multiple people standing near the cracked door to get a cool breeze. The food came out very quickly and we felt somewhat rushed to vacate the table.
Overall we left feeling a bit disappointed and will try another high end vegan restaurant the next time we are in New York. If you love French food, or are curious, it is worth trying, especially considering I have never seen another vegan French restaurant. Otherwise, I would recommend one of the many, many other vegan restaurants NY has to offer.

Great crepes, nice ambiance - Edit
My friend and I loved this place. It was super cozy and cute, though there is not a lot of room in the restaurant. We ordered crepes and the ratatouille. This restaurant is very gluten free friendly which is a big pro. The crepes are all gluten free for those of you who are vegan and gluten free and craving crepes! My crepe was delicious (chocolate banana), and my friend enjoyed her orange crepe. The ratatouille and bread was very good for gluten free as well. I'd highly recommend this place if you like french cuisine.

100% organic, mostly GF and unbelievably amazing - Edit
How this place isn’t one of the the top (if not the top) vegan spots in Manhattan blows my mind. I don’t remember the last time I ate at a 100% organic spot, where all the pea protein meats were made in house .. not with beyond/impossible.
Read moreThe food is out of this world - rich flavor, great textures and so tasty. The menu is also mainly gluten free which is a plus.
It’s in the cutest part of the city and it’s got an adorable indoor & outdoor seating area. Not often do you come across a vegan French place!
Pros: 100% organic menu , Almost 100% gluten free menu , Rich, bold French flavors
Cons: None
